A couple side notes.....

We went on the hay ride and I was the only adult with the 4 girls. When the tractor started to go it jerked a bit but we were fine. When it had gone around the block and was at a stop the guy next to me got down and put the wood block down for us to get off. All of the sudden the tractor lurched and people fell off. I looked for the girls real quick and had Ruby, Chloe and Phia but no Emma. I turn around and there was Emma on the road! Delphia tells us all day long that she didn't know the tractor was going to tip over.

We also went on a train ride around the lake. I told my mom I wasn't sure that I could get in because I would have to lift my leg over the edge. My mom, however was bound and determined to get me in the train. We finally did it, but I think it would have been easier if Josie hadn't of been in the Moby, I didn't have the diaper bag and Phia's treat bag!

On the way home I had Ruby, Phia and Jopsie in my van. Josie was initially asleep, but woke up on the way to my mom's and was apparently starving. She was bawling and choking on her slobber. I puleed over on I-215 to make her a bottle and calm her down. Phia was asleep and Ruby says to me, "Nana, I need to go potty!" I asked if she could hold it and she said no. She asked if she could just go on the side of the road. I told her that I would get Phia's potty out of the back and she could use that. That was fine with her and so she did but then she said that she needed me tobuckle her. I wasn't sure how I was going to climb in the back and over a toilet full of pee. I called my mom to see where they were and next thing I know I hear her voice asking me if we are okay. I explained the situation and so she climbed in and buckled Ruby and off we went!

Sisters and Friends

I love taking picture of these two together! They are just so sweet and cute with each other. Delphia never fails to make Josie laugh and it just makes me smile! I often find Josie just watching Phia and waiting for her to pay her some attention!

She is so excited that she can sit up!

Delphia and Josie love to play with her stuffed animals on her bed. Delphia always gets monkey and Josie gets Mrs Milk Potts (that's another post!) Phia plays make believe and Josie chews on Mrs Milk Potts tail and paws until they are beyond slobbery! I think she is going to have 7 animals to sleep with just like her sister!

Playing

The girls love to play on the floor...

Delphia decided they need to pose for the camera so she was trying to get Josie to cooperate, but she had other plans.

What a girl! Most days she is just a delight, but lately she has been very emotional and sassy. We have talked about it with her and has gotten a lot better. She absolutely adores Josie and is very patient with her hair pulling and face grabbing. She is very protective of her and willing to get toys or a binkie as needed.

Josie loves this toy! It cracks me up because the look on her face looks as if she is puzzled and trying to figure something out!

The girls playing together. Josie loves to watch Delphia when she runs around and is just amazed with her! Delphia has had little interest in this toy until I get it out for Josie and then she insists that it is hers and that Josie can't play with it. So, we have to explain to her that she needs to share and that Josie shares her toys with her. It seems to work for the most part for now.

Pants?

Last week I walked into Josie's room to get her from her nap and when I looked in her crib this is what I found....

She had totally kicked her pants off. This doesn't surprise me for 2 reasons: 1) She is a wiggle worm and is constantly moving her little legs and 2) She is just my little thing. She needs 3-6 months pants for her length but she has a couple that still just drown her in the waist!

Making Me Smile....

Yesterday at my mom's we sat Josie up with 2 pillows for support and she sat there as happy as could be!She can pretty much sit up and balance unless she turns to the side. She will be sitting by herself before much longer. Delphia was playing with her Dora doll on the floor so I sat Josie by her and Delphia gave her some toys to play with.

Concentrating really hard on sitting and trying to get her toy....

She is so happy when she is sitting as she likes to see what is gong on around her.

We call this her shy look. She will look at you really quick and look from under her eyebrowns, kinda with her head down but looking up. She loves to be held and is quite the mommy and daddy's girl!

Just a couple cute pictures....

Delphia giving me a smile and then going back to her Dora doll and playing in her own little make believe world. She always tells me that she is just pretending and that you can pretend that things are anything, if you pretend!

Sunday Afternoon

We have had a very relaxing Conference Sunday! Here are various picture from this afternoon!

Pumpkins that I finished during Conference to put on my table upstairs!

My sweet little Josie Blue Eyes!

The family sleeping on the love sac. Shane was dozing off and on but when I went to take the picture he looked at me and I told him to close his eyes (hence the big grin!)

Sweetheart again!

Cornbelly's

We decided to go to Cornbellys on Saturday because it was only $3.93 a ticket instead of $8.75. We planned it while Shane was at work and so he met us in Lehi at Emmetts and Ethels where we got dinner and delicious ice cream!

Delphia had a blast doing all the activities! It was a good thing I decided to lay her down earlier that day. We didn't get home until 11:45 that night and she had just barely fallen asleep! She didn't want to leave and kept finding things she had to do. We thought we would be there until 9:30, not until 11:00 when they closed! It will definitely become a family tradition!

Picture of Delphia

This is a picture Delphia drew and when I asked her she said it was a picture of her. I looked at it closer and indeen I could see it was a person!

She is quite the little artist and loves to do crafts. She always wants to be cutting paper, gluing, coloring, drawing or doing stickers. She drew a picture of Shane which I will post a picture of later. Shane thought it was an owl and then she told him that it was a picture of him!

Halloween Advent

I saw this Halloween Advent Calendar on Studio 5 and just had to make one. It is finally complete and hanging on the wall ready for Friday October 1st!

Witches at Gardener

The middle of September, we dropped Shane off at work and headed to Gardener Historic to see the witches that they put up every year. The real point of the visit was to get fabric for a car seat cover but I figured while we were there we could feed the ducks and see the witches.

Delphia immediately wanted to go see the witches and feed the ducks but I told her that we had to head to Pine Needles first. They were pretty good in the fabric store so we headed outside.

Phia loved the big cake in front of the bakery and wanted to know which witch had made it.

Witch flying over the stream.

This was her favorite witch last year and she seemed to like it this year also. However when we asked her which was her favorite she told us that is was the "hula bean" witch. In adult terms that is the hula hooping witch.

She had fun feeding the birds in the trees and then the duck when he wandered past. However, she apparently wasn't feeding him fast enough because he took the bread right out of her had getting her fingers in the process. She wasn't hurt, just really scared and huddling against the stroller.

Posing with the pumpkins. She was having a ball pulling hay out of the haystack and throming it in the air and singing, "Springtime in the fall." No idea what that means but she has been saying it forever.

Bountiful Baskets

I decided to give Bountiful Baskets a try after many friends in my ward have loved it. I went this morning and picked up my basket and can't wait to try some new foods! We got a head of green leaf lettuce, a bunch of grapes, 8 apples, 7 peaches, bag of onions, okra, 2 acorn squash, bunch of celery, broccoli, bunch of bananas and I am guessing, 5 plums!

Camping and Tents

This doesn't look like camping to me, but according to Delphia this is how you camp. She loves to take the pillows off the couch and lay them on the floor to make a bed. She then takes her blanket and makes her and josie a tent to play in. I am constantly telling her not to put the blanket over Josie's face. Josie will play for a little while but then gets fussy and wants to do her own thing.

I told Delphia to enjoy having Josie play on command because eventually she will tell Delphia that she doesn't want to do something.

Stake Conference

We had Stake Conference a couple weeks ago and when w e got home the girls were happy and being cute so we laid Josie down and snapped some pictures and got one of Delphia.

Josie rolled over for the first time on August 22nd, but we haven't seen her do it since then. When we laid her down today on the floor she was rolling to her tummy and back. She will do it occasionally but usually just turns to her side and rolls back to her back.

Baby Food?

When we took Josie to her 4 month appointment he encouraged us to start with baby food. I was going to start and then she got a UTI and so I didn't start until about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I make her baby food, so one day I made sweet potatoes, bananas, peaches, pears, plums and avocados. We did the rice cereal a couple days and she was fine with that so then we tried banana which she didn't like, so then we tried sweet potatoes which she didn't like, so we tried pears which were also a no go.

I then decided to try bananas with cereal and she thought they were okay. She LOVES sweet potatoes with cereal but pears she just spit out. Today we tried avocado which she loved. Delphia was big on bananas and avocado and fruits whereas I am finding Josie likes the veggies.

She loves to put her bibs in her mouth. I am in the process of making her some bibs with ribbing around the neck so they can be washed and dried. The bib we bought her have plastic on the back and can't be dried.

If her bib isn't in her mouth you can bet her fingers are!

Smiling for mommy!
