Let's Pretend

Delphia wanted to play in her room and she wanted Shane to play also. I came upstairs to this....

Delphia was looking in her doll's nose, mouth, eyes and ears, taking her blood pressure and her temperature. She got these dolls and the doctor kit for Christmas and is just starting to really enjoy them.

Josie on the other hand was having fun with the bandaid. She would give it to Shane and he would put it on her and she would pull it off and repeat the process.

Then she found the doll bowl and spoon and was having fun feeding her sister...

Some Crafting....

On Friday I was up in Salt Lake so my mom watched the girls so I could run to the craft store.

I had seen this easter project and I wanted to make one for my house.

Last weekend during General Conference I strated this table runner. It isn't finished yet but I already love it! Camille and her mom Bonnie produced this fabric line with Moda and I love the colors as I adore turquoise and red and they are hard colors to come by! This fabric is the Bliss line and they have a new line coming out called Ruby which I am going to have to get!

I am about 1/2 way finished sewing the football shapes on this direction and then need to pin them the other direction and sew them on, cut the scalloped edges and wash so it is all worn and cozy!

4) Josie Birthday Cake Caterpillar The cakes are baked and in the freezer, just waiting to decorate on Thurday. Shane is upstairs making the sugar cookie dough for her name.

Fountain Falling

On Wednesday we decided that the girls needed a break and so did we. We decided to head to Downtown Disney and let them each choose an animal at Build A Bear.

Delphia chose a bunny and a Tinkerbell outfit and she laughs when you sqeeze her hand. Josie chose a greay kitty that meows.

After we left Build A Bear we went and sat by a cool fountain and Delphia was playing in the water. It didn't really have an edge and Delphia kept bending over with her feet off the ground and I kept telling her to keep her feet on the ground or she would fall in. She would be better at it for awhile and then forget.

Well, I sent Shane to get beignets at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen because I wanted to try them. He came out after a while and we were sitting there talking while the beignets cooled down. All of the sudden I looked at Delphia and she was going head first into the fountain! I exclaimed, "Delphia!" Shane turned towards her, and by this point she was sitting in the fountain and I was wishing I had my camera. Shane handed Josie to me and helped her out (it's a good thing it was 77 degrees that day!)

She was upset and we told her that we had told her to keep her feet on the grond. She informed us that she fell in the fountain because we weren't watching her. Shane told her that even if he had been looking right at her he didn't think he could've stopped her from falling in.

Luckily we had a change of clothes in the car so we headed back to the entrance. I told her that I needed a picture, but she was too upset, but I wasn't going to not get a picture for future reference so I just snapped one with her bawling and upset!

Disneyland 3/8/11

When we got to Disneyland on Tuesday we headed over to find out where we could meet Tinkerbell. Delphia started to love Tinkerbell right around Christmas time and really wanted to meet her.We found the spot and then stood in line for what seemed like forever. Delphia made a wish with a penny in Tinkerbell's pond. We finally got up to the waiting area and took a picture of Delphia by the "Welcome" sign while we waited for our turn to go back.

You always get to meet Tink and one of her friends. The other fairy that Delphia got to meet was Vidia.



Then it was off to meet Tink. We rounded the corner but there were still people in front of us. Delphia saw Tink and yelled, "Hi Tink!" When it was her turn she went up and gave her a giant hug. Tink asked her if she wanted a picture of them pulling funny faces, so that's what the second one is.



Then come to find out, the only way to meet princesses is to wait in line. They no longer just wander the park. So, we waiting in line for almost an hour. We were guarenteed to meet 3 princesses, but you didn't know who you would meet until you waited in the line and got back there. Delphia really wanted to meet Belle and Cinderella but when we got back there she met, Snow White, Jasmine and Aurora.







Later in the week we went and asked if they could tell us who was back there. They told us for sure that Belle was but by the time we stood in line that she might no longer be one of the princesses. Delphia decided that she wanted to ride some rides and not stand in a long line.

You have to park in a parking lot and then be bused to Disneyland. Delphia thought the buses were pretty cool and she liked to ride in the very back that was higher up than the rest of the bus.



When we came back from lunch that day we headed over to California Adventure and she got to meet Captain Mickey. Grandma Freeman wated a picture of her kissing Mickey on the cheek but Shane didn't have the camera ready, so we missed it!



Then it was King Triton's Carousel. We decided to let Josie ride and she had fun!



Delphia had seen the big ferris wheel over the water and really wanted to ride it. I was fine with that as long as we were in a car that held still and didn't swing back and forth. Still, I got to the top and looked out and just wanted to be down, but we ended up going around twice.



It didn't seem to bother Delphia, Josie or Shane but it is defintely not my favorite ride.

We then passed Jessie and Woody from Toy Story but they were heading out and we didn't get to meet them. Delphia was very upset, but we assured her that would find them and get a picture with them.

Instead we found a toy box from Toy Story so we got a picture of Delphia being goofy in it.



The day before she saw Mickey Mouse balloons inside a clear balloon everywhere and she really wanted one. We found the balloon guy and so we bought her one and she had a ball with it all week.



During the week she was playing with it one morning and she hit it on the ceiling and punctured the clear outer balloon. She was upset nd we didn't know what to do and certainly didn't want to buy another $7 balloon so we thought out of the box and put a bandaid on it that we had bought at Costco earlier because my feet had sores from my soes. The bandaid did the trick and everyone was happy!

We weren't sure how we were going to take the balloon home and hoped that it would have no float left in it. However, Saturday came and it was still floating to the ceiling. Shane took it in the bathroom and popped the outer balloon and came back out and told her that she couldn't take it on the plane but that she could go let it go outside and it would float back to Disneyland. (As I am typing this she is telling us that she didn't want to let it go and that next time we can't go on a plane.)

That night we went on the Tea Cups and she had a ball turning the wheel and spinning. I personally was a little dizzy but Delphia loved it!

Exhausted

This was our week in pictures by the time 8:00 rolled around and we were getting ready to get on the bus and head back to the hotel.







We had planed on eating breakfast at the hotel, heading back during lunch and making sandwiches at the hotel and relaxing for an hour or so and then eating out for dinner. After the first two nights, when Delphia was out we had to change that plan and go to lunch and have sandwiches for dinner!

Disneyland 3/7/11

Sometime in February we decided we needed a vacation and we decided to take the girls to Disneyland. Delphia was majorly excited and we made her a countdown chain for her room. She told everyone that when she got to the blue Mickey she was going to Disneyland.

My brother Spencer drove us to the airport on Sunday the 6th and we flew down. That in and of itself was an experience for the girls.

Inside the castle they have a little area where they play Sleeping Beauty. Delphia got up on the bench and didn't want to go anywhere else. She told us she wanted to sit there and watch Sleeping Beauty. We were trying to talk her out of it when the movie ended. Luckily she went with it and agreed that the movie was over.



We took her on the carousel and she chose this white horse. I knew from the time we got on the carousel that it wouldn't be the last time we rode it!





Josie was out by this point, she had a rough night the night before getting used to a new place. Thank goodness my sister let us borrow her Bjorn, it was a lifesaver. josie would just nap when she needed to and she was content in it even when she was awake for the most part.



Delphia having fun walking on the rocks while waiting in line for Peter Pan. One thing that frove us crazy was the chains on all the lines. Delphia kept seinging them and got hit in the face a couple times and was hitting people while she would swing them. This got a whole lot better after the first day. I think she realized how things worked and could deal with it better.

We saw Mickey on Main Street and so we went over to get a picture with him. I think this was the one character that Delphia was most excited to meet.

We also had to get a picture with Pluto. After we got the picture with Delphia, Josie was reaching for him and so Shane took her closer and Josie screamed. She apparently doesn't like dogs, because the rest of the characters we met she was fine with.



We then decided to head over to California Adventure. We headed over to the Monsters Inc. ride, which is a favorite movie of Delphia's. (In fact, she has a nickname for Shane from that movie. She calls Shane Sully and insists that he call her Boo. She always says, "I love you Kitty! and if he says, "I love you too Delphia" she says, "My name isn't Delphia, it's Boo!"

We saw Sully getting pictures taken and you should have seen her face light up! These are probably some of my favorite pictures, because you can just see in her face how much she adores him!

Then it was off the A Bugs Life. Shane insisted that she would be scared, but I honestly couldn't remember anything that would scare her. She was fine until the spiders came down from the ceiling and then she was traumatized! She screamed her high pitched scream, covered her eyes and kept screaming. We had to explain to her that they weren't real.

If you ask her what her favorite ride was, she will tell you the Buzz Lightyear ride and then she will tell you that she didn't like the bug one with the spiders.

Later in the week we went on the Muppet 3D ride and when the bubbles started coming down from the ceiling she looked up with a look of horrow because she thought they were spiders. I quickly explained that they were bubbles and she was fine after that. But, she did not want to go on A Bug Life again!



That evening we just stayed in California Adventure and rode the little big rides in the Bug's Life area and headed back to the hotel, or as Delphia called it all week, the "Pocatel." Shane and I laughed every time she said it and kept trying to tell her it was a hotel. She kept insisting that she couldn't say that, she could just say, "Pocatel!"

Pillow Roll

Josie had a ball in our hotel in California. They had the roll pillows and she loved to sit and haave the pillow rolled to her over and over. We really could get her to giggle late at night when we would get back from Disneyland and Delphia was out and Josie was wide awake!

Train Fun

These two cute girls love to play with their train table that Santa brought them. Josie can pull herself up to it. The only issue she ever has with it is getting her finger smashed in one of the drawers.



Josie likes to taste the different pieces and pull it apart and throw each piece on the floor, one at a time. Shane has put the track together so many times that he doesn't even need the picture anymore.



Delphia likes to place all her princess figures on the track and move them along and lift them with the crane,

It is so much fun to watch them play together!
