The Littlest Pianist

  • The Littlest Pianist

This is our little concert pianist! Yesterday at my mom's we got out the keyboard that she bought for Dallen to take piano lessons on. She has a little Fisher Price piano that Phia loves so we figured she would have a fun time with more keys. She played it on the floor and then we moved it to the coffee table but it was a tad too high and so we moved it to the fireplace and she stood at it to play while I steadied her.

She would sit and play a few notes and then smile at my mom or I as if she was thinking, "Look at what I can do!" My mom had it play songs as Phia was playing and turned it so it would play sound effects when she pressed the keys. It is one toy that is going to be a hit with all the grandkids.

Last week Ashley was over with Ruby and Emma so we had to get a few pictures of the girls.

They all love the little bugs they are playing with. Ruby is the proud owner but she is nice to share with Phia. Phia has a paticular liking for the bumblebee and butterfly.

Last week before Girls Night Out we were bored so we put Phia's hat and sunglasses on her and tried to get a picture before she could get them off. What a funny girl!

She has started making a new sound that sounds like a baby Teradactyl. It's kinda of a rrrrrrraaaaaa noise. It's her sound of choice for the time being. Yesterday my mom was trying to get her to say dadadadadad, mamamama, babababa and all she could get out of her was rrrrrrrraaaaaaaa.

She has a little cold right now and her nose is constantly running. She absolutely hates having it wiped and dislikes having it sniffled out with her booger getter. She turns and twists and fusses and by the time we are done we are not looking forward to doing it again.

Shane, I and Phia spent the night at my mom's on Tuesday since he had to work until 10 pm Tues and Wed. On Tuesday Ash and the girls came over and we made Ruby a princess tutu out of netting and elastic and I made Phia some cute little hair clips with silk flowers on top. They turned out really cute. I was all excited about making them. We were going to run to the scrapbook store before we got to my moms. We were about .25 miles from the store and we hear this throw up sound from Phias direction. Shane said he would just sit with her while I ran in if she had thrown up. The day before in the car she had thrown up a little bit so we weren't expecting much. We pulled in to the store parking lot and got out of the car and each opened a back door. Poor little Phia was covered in throw up. All down her front, the carseat, between her legs and she was wearing shorts. We had to head straight to Grandmas and clean the little thing up. We ran to the scrapbook store afterwards and my mom watched Phia. I chose ribbon and flowers in about 10 minutes so that Shane could get to work on time.

Shane is sitting feeding Delphia a bottle and he called me in to see her. She was actually holding her own bottle which she hardly ever does. It will be wonderful when she will do it all the time.

This past Sunday Shane showed me that she will stand up to our bed and support her weight. She will start to fuss and so we sit her down and she reaches right back up to stand again. She is really good at rolling over when she wants to, she just hardly ever wants to. She is a talker, talker, talker and has also started to laugh like Ernie on Sesame Street. She is also incoporating that into talking more while using her throat to make throaty sounds. Almost every day she finds something new that just amazes her. The past couple days she been amazed with drawers and how the roll in and out. She discovered them while standing up to the coffee table at my moms and the discovered that there are drawers on the scrapbook desk downstairs. She rolls it out and in and back out again.

Last Sunday Phia amd Shane were playing with one of her rubber ducks and this was the result. The first time she was giggling a ton and Shane was just a laughing. He went and got the camera and we recorded it but it wasn't quite like her first reaction.

Well, I am going to hang out with Phia and Shane. Maybe we will watch a movie or go for a walk.

    Just A Little Sun!

Ahhh...quiet! Miss Phia didn't want to nap yesterday and today I was determined to get her to nap. I feel like a better mom when I get a little break during the day. It took 20 minutes of quietly fussing in her crib and now she is asleep! It's the little things!

Yesterday we kept ourselves very busy. We made avocado for Phia, got her bananas in a bag, swept the kitchen floor, made breadsticks, made dinner which included cutting up meat and veggies for chef salad. Now that I list it all out it doesn't seem like much but at least I accomplished something.

We watched The Biggest Loser Finale last night and I was happy that a woman finally won! I was amazed when they each got up to weigh at how motivated they were to continue no matter when they had gotten voted off.

This is Phia's favorite thing to play with. She likes the empth one because she can munch and crunch it. It is just an empty wipe bag from the hospital. They can have such fun with the simplest things!

We are trying to get her to learn how to drink out of her sippy cup. She is just my laid back little munchkin and I think that even when she can do something, if she doesn't have to she won't. She was fiddling with the cup and then realized she needed to tip it and so she did and was getting water and then couldn't figure out how to get it to stop and so she got all wet. She then proceeded to turn her cup upside down and suck on the bottom.

I have realized how laid back she is as I have tried to get her to roll over. I go get her in the morning out of her crib and she is rolled to her stomach sometimes. On Sunday she was laying on our bed and she was rolling over and then back to her back and then she would roll again and roll right back because she keeps one of her arms under her. She did finally take her arm out and then she cried. If I try to get her to roll over, forget it...if she wants to she will go right ahead.

On Saturday my mom watched Delphia so Shane and I could get away. We went to lunch at Applebees and then just kinda wandered without the Phi. We went to See's, Barnes and Noble and over to the mall. I decided that Phia needed some sunglasses for walks and just going outside. She looks so cute in them but likes to hold them and chew on them more than let them keep the sun out. We have to put them on her and distract her with a toy until she forgets about them. She wore them to Costco on Saturday and then to Walmart and every would stop and say how cute she was and point her out to their spouse or kids. We also ended up buying her Jam Berry at B&N. It is one of my favorite books and I have never actually owned it. We also went to the library and got some books, mostly for Phia. It's funny how you have a kid and everything revolves around them. We love to buy things for her and we sure missed her while we were out but she had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa. We came back to get her and my mom had combed her hair down and put some gel in it, but it was still sticking up in places.

This is her favorite past time while I check my e-mail or balance the checkbook. She loves to play with the keyboard, especially the cord.

Tonight we are going to Girls Night Out on our street from 7-9. Shane will come and get her by 7:30. It should be fun.

Tomorrow we are going to my mom's to visit and Ashley, Ruby and Emma are coming over also.

    Spring Fever

Believe it or not, it was snowing at our house today! Phia and I have Spring Fever something horrible. It's been too cold to even go for a walk. It is supposed to be 66 on Sat, 72 on Sun, 75 on Mon and 71 on Tues! Happy days!

    11 10

This is Phia's new thing. She has been doing it for about a week. She will go from happy smiley to eye squinty huffy! She's not neccesarily upset. She just thinks it is funny. She does it when she eats (food or bottle), plays and is being held. I kept telling her to do it this morning just so I could get a picture of her doing it for posterity! It cracks everyone up when she does it.

    8

Her newest newest thing is honking like a goose. I kid you not that's exactly what she sounds like. She honks over and over again and it cracks Shane up. It does get on my nerves by the end of the day sometimes though! She is making goose noises in the picture above!

On Sunday we sat her in her bouncy chair while Shane made breadsticks to go with our lasagne. This is how she sits, with her feet up in the air resting on the part that goes over her. Shave also told her she sounded like a horse because she sounded like she was neighing while has was baking.

What did I tell ya? She loves books! Grandma Freeman brought this to Girls Night Out on Saturday at Haleys and she loves it! She chews on it and looks at it, loves having it read to her. I decided that its her book and she can do whatever she wants with it! She was laying on the bed reading with Mommy! Like mother like daughter!

We spent the day at my mom's on Monday and we were making some brownies and my mom had given Phia the piano to play with but thought she needed something to hit the top with so she gave her a wire whisk. Phia thought it was the greatest thing ever! She almost forgot about the piano which she also dearly loves. Later that evening she wouldn't go to bed and kept peeking around to where the piano was. Mommy gave in and out came the piano and wire whisks, this time Grandma gave her two and she started playing and banging away! I need to find her a little piano, because she has so much fun with it!

This bear sits on her dresser with her clock and lately everytime I get her up from sleeping she puts her hands out towards it and talks. I let her play with it this morning and what does she like best about it, the tag of course!

    9

This was taken the last Sunday in March and she looks so grown up to me! She is 7 1/2 months today and those months have just seemed to zip right by!
