Delphia Spring Dance Recital 2011

Phia's Spring Dance Rectal was on May 28, 2011. She was so excited to get up onstage and perform! It was so much fun to see how much she has improved since her Christmas Recital!

She did such a good job dancing and watching her teacher. She can't wait for classes to start this fall. For about 3 weeks after her recital she pretended that she had recital after recital and was worried we were going to miss it. We finally told her that she would go back to dance after her birthday, and that gave her something to look forward to!

My Girls

These are my sweet girls. It is so much fun watching them try and learn to share and deal with each other quirks.

Josie is a tease and even though she is only 14 months she knows exactly what to do to upset Phia or get her goat. She is my little free spirit who just does what she wants, loves to explore and isn't real cuddly. When I get a kiss or a hug from her a cherish it!

Phia is my little love bug. She has her moments but is constantly telling me she loves me, that my shirt is beautful, my hair is fabulous and gives me tons of hugs.

Teaser

I have a pillow that sits on my table in the entry way. Josie loves to grab this pillow and carry it all around the house and lay ot it. Occasionally she carries the pillow over to me, shows me that she has it, drops it on the floor, looks at me and walks away.

Pony Express Carnival

Every year in conjunction with Pony Express Days the city has a carnival at Nolan Park. This was the first year we went and Delphia was very excited at just the mention on a carnival. After the parade we headed home and had some lunch and took naps and then headed out for more fun.

Delphia wanted to go on almost every ride and we decided that next year we will just buy the day pass and let her go and have fun all day. This was the boat ride and it was in water and they just rode around and around.

Josie was too little to ride so she played on the fences and watched Delphia have fun.

The Ferris wheel was the first ride the Delphia rode when we got there. She had fun and doesn't mind being way up high in the air.

Delphia was insistent that she ride the mini roller coaster. It was kinda fast and jerky and at first she was a little shocked but then she just laughed the whole ride! She was so thrilled that she went by herself and kept telling me how much fun she had!

Josie wishing she was riding the rides....

This was Delphia's favorite ride by far. She went on it 3-4 times and loved it. It scared me just watching her and Shane.

Pony Express Parade

The Pony Express Day Parade is kind of my "it's been another year" marker. It is something we go to every year and Delphia looks forward to it as soon as we tell her it is coming up.

Josie was really good for most of the parade, except she just wanted to go and play in the road. We had to keep calling her back to us and have her sit on our laps. During the parade they got little beach balls, so we blew one up for Josie to play with.

This was Bank of American Forks float. While we were driving to the parade route to park Delphia saw a hot air balloon shaped like a pig. We thought that it might be in the parade, but we didn't see it at all the rest of the day.

No idea why Delphia has her eyes crossed but I love this picture of her in a hat they were throwing out in the parade. She is afraid to stand by the road and get candy so we have to coax her into sitting on Shanes lap so she can grab the candy. We sat by Ruby and Emma and they had no problem being in the gutter and grabbing all the candy they could. Every year I wonder when Delphia is going to really get into the whole parade/candy thing. Maybe next year....

This is how we ended the parade with Josie. She got a sucker at one point in the parade and sat really still for a bit when I looked down at her she had her sucker stuck in her hair and we had to pull it out. We got her another sucker and she ate that while she was trying not to fall asleep, although eventually she gave in.

Delphia came up with a new phrase while we were at the parade. We were watching the parade entries go by when all of the sudden she started saying, "Nice workin' with you!" to every float!

Delphia kept watching for her dance teacher who was in the parade. She even was asking if she would see her at the carnival and we told her that we probably wouldn't. However, when we got to the carnival they were leaving and Phia said, "See, I told you I would see my teacher!"
