Snuggle Wrap

We have what we call the snuggle wrap. We wrap Josie like this and used to wrap Phia this way. They get wrapped like this for bed when they are little. Shane also wraps them in the car seat. He buckles them in then wraps the blanket snug and tucks it in the sides. He has done this to Phia forever and has started doing it with Josie

On Sunday he had Josie snuggle wrapped and Delphia wanted to be snuggles wrapped just the like her sister. I'm not sure how Shane snuggle wrapped an almost 3 year old, but they were both happy!

Dry Please!

Delphia used to love syrup on her waffles. Now when we make waffles she requests them dry. No syrup, no jam, no butter. All I can say is yuck!

Here she is sitting on the counter while our waffles are cooking.

Here in this picture she was telling me that she wasn't going to smile for pictures....

Closing her eyes...

Trying not to smile....Shane was saying, "Don't smile for the camera."

Puff Paint and Sleeping

I ran across the recipe for this concoction on a blog I follow and I thought Delphia would enjoy it.

Puffy Paint Recipe:
One tablespoon of salt, one tablespoon of flour, and some food coloring. You can add a bit of water but make sure to keep the mixture thick. After painting, pop into the microwave for 10-30 seconds (until it bubbles and dries).

We mixed all the colors together and I gave her a brush for each color and she went to it! She wasn't sure of the texture and how it dripped of the brush but she didn't want to stop painting! Surprisingly enough it is much less messy than regular watercolors which made me happy!

Josie did her usual sleeping session while we painted! I can't wait to have both my girls do these fun activities!

Pony Express Days Parade

One of the highlights during the year in Eagle Mountain for us is the parade during Pony Express Days. Delphia had been talking about it for awhile about how she wasn't going to be scared and that she liked firetrucks and 4-wheelers.

She didn't want her hair done that morning but hates her hair in her face. I had her put her hat on but it didn't stay on too long.

Josie just sat in her car seat and slept almost the whole parade except for one bottle.

Delphia was funny because she stood and got candy for a couple minutes but then she was done and just wanted to sit in the chair with me. I kept trying to talk her into going by Shane to get candy or I would say, "Phia go stand by dad so you can see the float." She would just tell me that she could see it. I guess she felt safe in the chair.

When some royalty went by her cousin Ruby told them she hoped they found someone to marry and Delphia my little cautious bug told them to be careful! Silly girl!

After the parade we went to the park and had a picnic of hot dogs and delicious doughnuts! Everyone had stuff to do. My mom wanted to get home to my dad and Ash needed to get stuff ready for Eli's blessing the next day. The girls didn't have much time to play so we stayed with Phia and let her play awhile.

She has this thing about taking turns and no one can do certain things like climb up the stairs or ladders until she is done and then it is their turn.

We ended up going to Salt Lake because Shane broke his phone in half after sliding with Delphia. Three hours later he tad T-Mobile on an old Blackberry of my dad's, I had a new skirt pattern for Delphia and was ready to be home!

When we got home Delphia told us that Monkey was going to Grandma's and was buckled in and ready to go.

Close To A Smile

I adore baby smiles and we have been trying to get Josie to smile. She smile a bit but they are just random smiles. Last week we were talking to her in the bouncer chair and got a couple close smiles out of her. Delphia loves to talk to her and usually can get a smile.

Josie wouldn't nap that afternoon while Delphia was napping and I needed a break but wasn't going to get one. She seemed to be wide awake. Delphia napped for 2 1/2 hours and when she woke up we went to get her. We asked what she wanted to do and she wanted to play in her room. I laid Josie on the bed while Delphia made me a cheese and coconut sandwich (her scarf rolled into a ball). She kept telling me all the different layers of the sandwich.

Not 3 minutes later I looked over at Josie and this is what I found. She was out! Delphia and I went downstairs and I just put pillows around her. Delphia insisted she sleep with animal and set doggie on the pillow by her.

Bear Park and Other Randomness

Just a few random goofy pictures of Delphia one morning when I thought she looked exceptionally cute. I told her to stand by the couch for a picture.

Then she wanted a picture laying down....

and a picture in the pose.

We went to Bear Park last week with Ruby, Emma, Eli, Ashley, Chloe and my mom. Ruby has been pleading to go to Bear Park. I am not really sure why because I personally think it is run down compared to most park. We took a picnic and the girls had fun just playing and running around. Delphia ate the most of all the girls which surprised me because we were at the park. Right before we went back to my mom's I was burping Josie and she spit up all over, so I had to wear a shirt of my mom's.

Perler Beads

I put an Amazon order in the end of May and I couldn't wait for it to come. I remember playing with perler beads at my grandma's and figured Delphia would have fun with them also. They were on the porch one evening when we got home and I promised her we could do something with them the next day. When she woke up all she wanted to do was beads. I told her we had other stuff that had to be dine first, and then we could do beads.

We got the other stuff done and Josie was content in her bouncer so we sat down to put something together.

She wanted me to make one with her so I worked on one while she did hers. I got mine done and she was still working on hers so I helped her put beads on.

After we were done putting the beads on we went and got the iron and ironed our creations together and made necklaces out of them. Delphia was very proud of her necklace and wore it all day long. At naptime we had to put it by her pig so that it was safe.

Josie just chillin' while we took pictures of Phia and her necklaces.

Family Fun Night

The first week in June is Pony Express Days here in Eagle Mountain. The city has all kinds of activities planned throughout the week. Monday was a Family Fun Night, so we invited my parents and went not having a clue as what to expect. I had heard it was fun for little kids. Let me just say we probably won't go ever again because of the lines which made it totally unenjoyable.

The first game Phia played was a boot toss. We told her to give the ticket to the guy and she put it in the boot so Shane had to go get it out and give to her to hand to the guy.

She played a bean bag toss and got a balloon.

Grandpa got her an ice cream to help pass the time spent in line. We stood in line for face painting and Shane for popcorn and cotton candy.

By the time Shane was through the line we had decided just to go back to the house for our yummy steak dinner and rhubarb strawberry pie.

Josie Girl

She is my cuudlebug. She loves to be held. She is a better sleeper than Phia but at times just wants to be held so she can sleep. If you set her down she is wide awake. All afternoon today I have been trying to get her to sleep without me holding her. I tried everything: the bathroom fan, noise from the pack'n'play thing, laying her on our bed, the swing and her bouncer chair. No such luck. So, Delphia wakes up and I lay Josie on Phia's bed and not 2 minutes later she is sound asleep and has been for an hour. Go figure!

Phia's Hand

Delphia loves to trace her hand. She makes me laugh because she has drawn fingernails ever since I put them on her hand picture once. She came home from nursery last Sunday and I saw her picture and then on the back was this:

I said, "Wow, did you draw your hand Phia." She said yes and we went home. When we were home on Wednesday she was drawing on her MagnaDoodle and she drew her hand again.

It is amazing to me how similar they look and that I can tell it is her hand. We had a Frontier Girls Night on Wednesday and her nursery teacher even commented on her liking to trace her hand.

Phiaisms Part 8

We were at my mom's yesterday and I was holding Josie. She started to cry and my mom asked why she was crying. I told her she jerked her head back and hit it on my collarbone. Delphia was sitting there and she said, "No don't call her bone. She is Josie Noelle." I told her I didn't call her bone. Her response, "Yes you did."
