Picture of Delphia

This is a picture Delphia drew and when I asked her she said it was a picture of her. I looked at it closer and indeen I could see it was a person!

She is quite the little artist and loves to do crafts. She always wants to be cutting paper, gluing, coloring, drawing or doing stickers. She drew a picture of Shane which I will post a picture of later. Shane thought it was an owl and then she told him that it was a picture of him!

Halloween Advent

I saw this Halloween Advent Calendar on Studio 5 and just had to make one. It is finally complete and hanging on the wall ready for Friday October 1st!

Witches at Gardener

The middle of September, we dropped Shane off at work and headed to Gardener Historic to see the witches that they put up every year. The real point of the visit was to get fabric for a car seat cover but I figured while we were there we could feed the ducks and see the witches.

Delphia immediately wanted to go see the witches and feed the ducks but I told her that we had to head to Pine Needles first. They were pretty good in the fabric store so we headed outside.

Phia loved the big cake in front of the bakery and wanted to know which witch had made it.

Witch flying over the stream.

This was her favorite witch last year and she seemed to like it this year also. However when we asked her which was her favorite she told us that is was the "hula bean" witch. In adult terms that is the hula hooping witch.

She had fun feeding the birds in the trees and then the duck when he wandered past. However, she apparently wasn't feeding him fast enough because he took the bread right out of her had getting her fingers in the process. She wasn't hurt, just really scared and huddling against the stroller.

Posing with the pumpkins. She was having a ball pulling hay out of the haystack and throming it in the air and singing, "Springtime in the fall." No idea what that means but she has been saying it forever.

Bountiful Baskets

I decided to give Bountiful Baskets a try after many friends in my ward have loved it. I went this morning and picked up my basket and can't wait to try some new foods! We got a head of green leaf lettuce, a bunch of grapes, 8 apples, 7 peaches, bag of onions, okra, 2 acorn squash, bunch of celery, broccoli, bunch of bananas and I am guessing, 5 plums!

Camping and Tents

This doesn't look like camping to me, but according to Delphia this is how you camp. She loves to take the pillows off the couch and lay them on the floor to make a bed. She then takes her blanket and makes her and josie a tent to play in. I am constantly telling her not to put the blanket over Josie's face. Josie will play for a little while but then gets fussy and wants to do her own thing.

I told Delphia to enjoy having Josie play on command because eventually she will tell Delphia that she doesn't want to do something.

Stake Conference

We had Stake Conference a couple weeks ago and when w e got home the girls were happy and being cute so we laid Josie down and snapped some pictures and got one of Delphia.

Josie rolled over for the first time on August 22nd, but we haven't seen her do it since then. When we laid her down today on the floor she was rolling to her tummy and back. She will do it occasionally but usually just turns to her side and rolls back to her back.

Baby Food?

When we took Josie to her 4 month appointment he encouraged us to start with baby food. I was going to start and then she got a UTI and so I didn't start until about 2 1/2 weeks ago.

I make her baby food, so one day I made sweet potatoes, bananas, peaches, pears, plums and avocados. We did the rice cereal a couple days and she was fine with that so then we tried banana which she didn't like, so then we tried sweet potatoes which she didn't like, so we tried pears which were also a no go.

I then decided to try bananas with cereal and she thought they were okay. She LOVES sweet potatoes with cereal but pears she just spit out. Today we tried avocado which she loved. Delphia was big on bananas and avocado and fruits whereas I am finding Josie likes the veggies.

She loves to put her bibs in her mouth. I am in the process of making her some bibs with ribbing around the neck so they can be washed and dried. The bib we bought her have plastic on the back and can't be dried.

If her bib isn't in her mouth you can bet her fingers are!

Just A Little Josie

Last night while we were eating dinner Josie was just lounging in her highchair. She was leaned back in the corner with her foot on the little tray just playing with her rainbow goggles. For the most part this totally describes her personality, completely laid back!

We fed her rice cereal for the first time yesterday. She seemed to be okay eating it, but by no means did she love it. She pushed it around in her mouth and Phia sat by her side telling her she could do it and that the docter said she could have baby cereal. I think she really just wanted to eat her hand, as everytime I put some in her mounth she would get her hand in her mouth also. We will try a couple more times and then move to real food.

She was just laying on the floor being a happy girl and playing with toys Phia put in front of her. Delphia was serving me lunch (a fried plastic egg with plastic cheese and lettuce served over hashbrowns, and telling me I couldn't hace my ice cream cone till I ate all my lunch!

Partying in Phia's bed with her animals while Delpha was brushing her teeth and getting ready for bed! I love her toothless little grin and the way her eyes light up when she is happy!

PJ's!

I just love this picture of Josie! We got her in her warmer pj's Monday night since we have been sleeping with our window open. When we wake up it is between 67 and 69 degrees. These are a pair that Meg gave me that were Chloes and I love them. This is the last picture we took and I am so glad we got it!

Lately she is constantly sucking and chewing on her fingers. If you are talking to her she will half smile while still chewing on her fingers.

She loves her toes and loves to hang onto them. She was amazed at the heart on her pj's and just wanted to look at them and grab them. It was hard to get her to look at us. Shane was practically having a circus behind me to get her to look up.

Serious....

Just my little dolly!

My Little Dancer!

While we were camping the first part of July, my sister-in-law Haley was telling me that her daughter was signed up for a tumbling/jazz/ballet class from a lady that her son had been taking from and he has loved it. I decided to call her and get Phia signed up. I signed her up for the same class but a different day. It is Tuesday and 10:30-11:15. Her first class was yesterday and on Monday we needed to get her shoes, tights and leotard.

We tried to find Danskin at VF, but it is no longer there even though it is in the brand new phone book. We then went on a goose chase for this other staore. We had the address but didn't know what it was called. When we got to he address it appeared to be a dance studio not a dance store. When I went in I found that it was both and we chose Delphia a leotard. We tried one on and she said that's the one she liked so we went with that. She got fitted for her ballet shoes and we got her some tights.

That morning I was talking to her aout dance class and she told me in no uncertain terms that she didn't want to go to dance class. I was a little worried at that point. However when we got to the store to get her things and she saw some kids dancing in the studio she said, "Oh! Can I go dance with them!?!" I told her that she couldn't and so she settled on watching a video of one of their recitals and was enthralled with it and kept telling me to look at it.

When we got home we tried everything on her and got some pictures! She looks so big to me and I can't believe she is ready to go to dance class! I know she will have so much fun and that it will be a great experience for her!

After we got pictures she didn't want to take it off!

Sisters!

We got up this morning (Monday) and got ready for the day since we were going to my mom's. I had no idea what the temperature was outside but when we got to my mom's she asked if I had pants for Josie or something warmer! It was cold but I decided since we were going to be inside all day she would be fine!

All of Josies 0-3 month clothes are short sleeved and shorts pretty much. She has a pair of jeans but they are too short. I was so excited to put long pants/overalls etc on her in 3-6 month size. However when I tried a couple on her the pants are way too big and don't stay up and the shirts drown her and the sleeves are too long and the neck too big! Hopefully by the end of September she will fit into them better! She has 4 pair of overalls and there is nothing cuter than a baby in little overalls!

My mom said she looked like a little spring pea!

We took a couple pictures of the girls together in the chair but this was the only one that turned out since Delphia decided she was going to rock Josie.

After we got these pictures Delphia was rocking faster and Josie seemed to like it!

Blessing....a Little Late

I am eating my words with this post. I have read blog posts and scrapbook pages in which they admitted to "reinacting" a moment because they didn't have their camera when the event actually happened. I thought to myself numerous times that I would never do that! But....there's a first for everything and when it is important as your daughters blessing and you realize you have no picture of her in her blessing dress, even thought it happened mid-June and it is now the end of August, you just have to have those pictures!

I kept telling Shane we needed pictures, but they never got taken....fast forward 2 1/2 months later he took matter into his own hands and while I was doing preschool stuff downstairs, he got her in her blessing gown and took a few snapshots! Thanks Shane!

Smoehow things that just got done automatically with 1 child just done get done with two. I felt like a terrible mother having no pictures of her in her blessing dress. Luckily by the time we got around to it, she still fit into her dress.

She was actually blessed on Fathers Day by Shane and she wore the same dress that Delphia wore to be blessed in! I love this little buglet and I am so glad Heavenly Father saw fit to send her to our family! We sure love her!

MobiGo and Floor Time!

Josie loves to play on the floor when Delphia is close by. Delphia will often grab her MobiGo and just plop down on the floor. She will play her MobioGo for a bit and they pay Josie some attention and just go back and forth.

She was laying on the floor so I was talking to her. She is getting past just looking serious when I get the camera out and I have been able to capture some of her cute personality!

Delphia loves her MobiGo but she insists on playing the games on difficult. It is fine for some games but others would be better on easy. Oh well, try suggesting she do it on easy to her and she will tell you she is doing difficult. Sometimes I press easy, hoping she won't notice and she backs out of the game, goes into it again and presses difficult!

Wild Sleeper

We snuggle wrap Josie before we put her into her crib at night. There is something about being snuggle wrapped that makes her relax and know it is bed time. I don't know how she doesit, but when she wakes during the nigtht she is totally unwrapped. Shane will wrap her back up snuggly tight, but the next morning she is usually in her crib looking something like this.

She is only waking up once during the night, well early morning really. She sleeps from 8/8:30 to 55:30. Can't complain too much about that! When she wake up in the morning she usually just lays there and looks around and talks. After she eats at 5/5:30 she goes back to bed until 8 or so! What a girl!
