Easter

Pictures of the girls in their Easter dresses. Shane's mom got Josie's for her birthday and we found Delphia's at Target and couldn't resist getting them matching dresses!

They weren't in a cooperative mood. Shane's dad took some that evening at the Freeman Easter party, hopefully he got some good ones. Josie didn't want to sit down, Delphia kept touching her face...so it will be interesting to see the results.

That's Why You Have...

Delphia says many funny things throughout the course of  a week and I really need to be better at writing them down.

One of her latest things was when I had gotten after her and Shane was on his way home.  I went in to check on her and started to tickle her back.  I would stop because my hand would get tired and she would say, "Keep going" or "Tickle more."  I finally told her that I was stopping because my hand was tired.  Her respose to this problem was very simple, she said, "That's why you have two Mom!"

Butterflies and Caterpillars, Oh My!

Delphia got a set for Christmas where you can watch insects turn into ladybugs and caterpillars. We waited until the beginning of April to order the bugs and when they came to the house via the mail in a package marked "Live insect - open IMMEDIATELY" the fun began.

Shane and I put the ladybugs into their habitat that night and we were amazed watching them. We didn't know that ladybugs didn't start as ladybugs.

Here's the ladybugs in their habitat. They are starting to turn into ladybugs. Every couple days we drop water into their dish to keep the humidity up.

I think the catterpillars are Delphia's favorite. Probably 4-5 times a day she is up standing on the couch, telling me, "Five more minutes and I think they will turn into butterflies." We keep telling her it will take longer than that.

She also says that she can't wait to catch the butterflies in her net. We are wondering how she will react when the do indeed turn into butterflies, because she is pretty much afraid of anything that moves, and even things that don't move (including dead worms!)

Yesterday the butterflies started forming their chrysallis. Two of the were hanging from the top in a "J" shape, one was ju up at the top and another was at the top eating the paper tnat they are supposed to hang on. By late last night, one fell (because the other one had eaten the paper holding it up). This morning that one was in a chrysallis and another hanging one was starting. Their is still one hanging and one still eating the paper. Yesterday their was still one at the bottom of the jar and Shane just thought it was hungry, but it hasn't moved at all today so I am thinking othewise. So, in 7-10 days we should have butterflies. As soon as the last 2 form their chrysallis we will take them out of the container and hang them in the butterfly house.

Ball Popper

Josie got this ball popper for her birthday and her and Delphia love to play with it and chase the balls!

Today they were playing and Delphia would sit and look down where the balls come out and scream everytime she saw one because it scared her!

Josie's One Year Pictures

We asked Shane's dad to take Josie one year pictures on the day of her party. I was afraid that if we put it off we would never get them done. I don't have a single picture of Josie displayed in the house and I really wanted one. We never got Delphia's 3 year pictures taken and I really wish we had, so I wasn't going to miss birthday pictures again!

Shane's dad took them outside in front of our house after the partyy. Josie was tired and being really serious and I thought she was never going to smile, when I remembered that she was laughing earlier that week when Delphia was "juggling" bean bags fow her. We called Phia out and had her "juggle" and got quite a few smiles.

I am amazed at how the picture just show her personality. As I looked through them I could pinpoint different parts of her personality and it was so much fun to see!

This is her shy side, when she's not sure of who she is around or what is really going on....we see this side a lot when we do new things andmeet new people, but never at home.

This is Josie for the most part when she is happy. This is her comfortable smile and her happy eyes just sparkle!

This picture is totally Josie! We don't see this side too often, except at home where she is completely comfortable. Usually she gets really giggly when Delphia is doing something to make her laugh! She was laughing so hard that she was crying.

The rest of the pictures I loved because they show her reserved little nature. She is very curious, but she holds back and just watches until she feels safe.

When she smiles and giggles you know she really thinks that you are funny, because she doesn't give her smiles and giggles away for nothing!

I love her little blue eyes!

Spin Around

The rocking chair had previously been in Josie's room, but as her birthday party was coming up we decided to move it into the living room and then have someone help Shane move it downstairs. However, after spending an evening reading in the chair I decided that I liked it upstairs.

Josie also decided that she liked it the day we moved it. She liked standing by it and spinning it and walking around and around.....until she fell!

Pluto's House

This is the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, or more specifically, Pluto's House.

Delphia will go and sit between the vouch and the wall and then try to coax Josie (Pluto) into the dog house. Josie will cooperate sometimes and then decide she is done and move on to other things. This really irritates Delphia, all of the sudden I will hear her say, "Now who's going to play with me? (hands on hips).

I have had to try and teach her that she can't force Josie into doing what she wants and that sometimes she wants to do her own things.

Josie's 1st Birthday

We had the traditional 1st birthday for Josie on April 16. Her birthday day was unique in that she pretty much shares a birthday with her cousin Eli, who was born the day before. Eli had his party at 1:00 an Josie's was at 3:00. It was a day full of parties!

I was surprised that Josie pretty much knew what to do with the presents and that she could actually open them pretty much with a little help from Shane and a lot of help from the girl cousins and her sister! She actually had a fit a couple times because the girls had the gift opened before she could get in on all the fun!

She absolutely adores the books that Aunt Amanda got her. Her and Delphia have spent hours reading them and looking at them!

Grandma and Grandpa Freeman got her this bear and the second she opened it up she gave it a big hug. (I think we have another stuffed animal lover on our hands!)

She got a lot of fun things, but I didn't get many pictures because of all the girls surronding her. It was quite the sight!

This was her birthday cake and it turned out really cute! Delphia kept commenting that she loved Josie's cake.

When We gave her the separate little caterpillar head she just picked the Sixlets off and the shortly thereafter she knocked it to the floor. We set her on the floor and she kind of picked in it, but was pretty much done!

Ice Cream Girl

This is what happens when you send Shane and Delphia to Walmart and to get emissions done on the car.

Yes, they had to stop at McDonalds for an ice cream cone and for Delphia and a Mountain Dew for Shane. Of course Delphia couldn't stand in one place to finish her ice cream at home, she just couldn't resist dripping it all over the floor!

However, I think it made her day to do some as simple as stop at McDonalds with her dad!

Table Runner

Just had to blog about my finished table runner! I love how it turned out!

Happy Birthday Josie J Pugmire!

I honestly can't believe that Josie is going to be a year tomorrow! The year has flown by so fast that it seems truly like yesterday we brought this sweet little girl into our family.

She has been such a joy and we all love her! It has been so much fun to watch her grow and change. We have seen her personality just blossom, although it is her same baby personality just a lot bigger. She has brought so much to love into our family.

I love at bedtime that Delphia wants hugs and kisses from Josie. Delphia has been a good little secong mommy and it is so much fun to see the two of them play. (Although Delphia will be heartbroken tomorrow as all day long today she has been commenting on the fact that Josie will be one tomorrow and be so big and that we better get her a bed, because now that she's one she is sleeping in Delphia's room on the top bed! We will have to inform her tomorrow that she is really only a day older because I think Delphia is just expecting her to grow up!)

Josie, you are full of smiles and giggles when you think the moment worthy. I love the fact that you still have the squeak when you giggle, as you did as a baby in the hospital. I love that you are so determined and that you don't let anything stop you from doing what you want. I love your love for your sister and your parents. I love you sweet little kisses and pats on the back when we are trying to comfort you. I love your talking in the morning and the sounds you make when you are so happy! Most of all, we just love you and are so glad that we were chosen to be your parents and watch your sweet little spirit grow!

We love you Josie J Pugmire! Happy birthday!

Disneyland 3/11/11

We pretty much spent the whole day in Toon Town on our last day and ended the evening with the World of Color which was AMAZING!

Delphia had met Mickey in numerous settings and when she met him again in Toon Town she asked him where Minnie Mouse was.  Being that they don't talk, he just pointed to her house and so off we went to find Minnie.

Delphia saw Gadget's Go Coaster, and really wanted to ride it.  She got up to where that had to measure her and just stood on her tiptoes a little bit and passed.  She must have really wanted to ride it and she loved every minute of it!

Almost 1!

Josie is doing all kinds of fun things!

1) She is pulling herself up to things.
2) She has been crawling for about 6 weeks.
3) She will stand all by herself, but has yet gotten the courage to takr steps.
4) She loves to bath with her sister and throws a fit when you get her out.
5) She says yeah and na for yes and no.
6) Just last night she took her own shirt off totally by herself. We had eaten dinner and Shane told Delphia to go get undressed to get in the tub. Josie had been pulling her shirt off one arm all day, but that was as far as she had gotten. Josie sat right there in the kitchen, took one arm out, struggled to get it over her head and then pulled the other arm out and just smiled at us like, "Look what I did!"
7) She loves to dance and shake her bum to music.
8) She is very ticklish!
9) She has been giving kisses for about a month.

We took these before church this morning and I can't believe my liitle baby looks like a one year old!

Finicky Eater

We started Josie on whole milk about 2 weeks ago and she initially was not happy. She didn't like the cold milk at all when she went down for her naps. She would drink it fine out of her sippy cup, but she likes it warm for naps and bedtime. Thanks to a dear friend who mentioned that she always heated her kids milk up! She was a lifesaver that day!

After she became okay with the milk it was the matter of getting her to eat. We wanted to do sippy cup of milk at meals and throughout the day and a bottle only at nap and bedtime. Howevere, there was the small issue of her picky eating.

The last 2 weeks she has been waking up 3-4 times a night in a 12 hour period and drinking anywhere from 24-30 oz during that same time. That meant we were up a lot and it meant that even if we changed her diaper during the night she woke up soaked along with her bed. On top of that she had major diarrhea to contend with. It sure meant we were doing a lot of laundry!

Finally over the past 3 days she has been willing to sit and eat a meal with us. She really likes waffles, cinnamon toast and cream of wheat for breakfast, but doesn't like cereal. During lunch she has bread, yogurt, crackers, cheese and dinner we try to feed her what we are eating. We still have the issue of only having 2 teeth which makes it hard to feed her some things. The last 2 nights she has only woken up 2 times. Wonderful! Especially when we think that Delphia slept through the night at 3 months!

Last night we even gave her little apple pieces, which was pretty funny to watch her eat!

She is starting to love her sippy cup and is drinking out of it really well. (On that note we also threw Delphia's sippy cups away today and gave her new ones like Josie's and told her that they can't go to bed with her and she agreed and even threw one cup away happily!)

The funny thing when you feed Josie is that you will give her a piece of bread for her to eat and instead of just putting it in her mouth, she picks it up and tears off littler pieces and then eats them.

If she doesn't like something she will pull it out of her mouth and put it in your hand. She likes to be clapped for when she puts food in her mouth. She is really good at flipping the straw out of her mouth and spraying milk all over the table, the floor, herself and me and then smiling like it is funny!

We love her and are loving getting to know her funny and sweet personality!

Disneyland 3/10/11

On Thursday we were relaxed and ready to go back to Disneyland.

We started out in California Adventures and went to the cartooning area. Delphia had fun sitting on a chair in the Beasts library and finding out what Disney character she was most like.

Shane and Josie sitting and waiting for Turtle Talk with Crush to start.

We got a picture with Goofy over in California Adventure.

We finally tracked Woody and Jesie down for a picture. (This was actually a goal we had set for the day) We went to guest services and they told us where in the park they would be and what time. We kept watching our watches and the headed over to Frontierland and the scheduled time. We were the second in line and Delphia was so excited to get her picture taken with them.

We went on the Dumbo ride (she really liked this ride and liked controling how high she went.) I think she liked that they handed out feathers and she knew she was on the next ride. While we were in line she decided that she had to go potty, so Shane ducked out of line with her and Josie and took her to the bathroom and I was just waiting, hoping they would get back. They made it backv and Delphia and I rode the ride while Shane and Josie went to steand in line to meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled.

Here's Delphia laying down on the ground while we waited to meet the Tangled characters.

Rapunzel and Flynn Rider....

We sat down by the carousel afterwards and let Josie just play with the water bottle and we had a snack.

We had gotten Fast Passes to World of Color earlier that morning and went to get our seats that evening before it started. We waited for about 1 1/2 hours to reserve our seats.

While we were waiting Delphia was sitting on Shanes lap and he told her she had to get up because his legs were falling asleep. She stood up and said, "Dad, your legs can't fall asleep because they don't have eyes!"

World of color was amazing and Josie slept through the whole thing in the Bjorn and Delphia watched it from Shane's shoulders.

The last bus left the park at like 9:00 and the show didn't end until like 8:50 so we rushed to the bus!
