Little Appetites

Last week I wasn't in the mood to make dinner so I requested that Shane pick up pizza to bring home. Delphia's request was that her's didn't have pepperoni because it burns her tongue...yes she is going through a food issue phase.

She always used to eat pepperoni, but lately doesn't like it. She also doesn't like butter....but she wants cinnamon toast which has to have butter for the sugar to stick. If she sees butter she points it out to us and tells us she is not going to eat that bite. So, for her toast we stick it in the microwave for a few seconds. She has also developed and onion/green pepper phobia. Sometimes she notices them and sometimes she doesn't.....

So after we pulled the pepperoni off her pizza she had a ball dipping her breadstick and pizza in leftover spaghetti sauce!

Then comes Josie who has her own food issues....no really she has gotten a ton better. She will now eat fruit loops, cream of wheat, pancakes, waffles, toast, meatloaf, potato cubes, carrot cubes, I have found 2 baby foods she will eat, vanilla wafers, anything dessertish, but she really adores yogurt....but only if it is yoplait vanilla.

Toothy

Yes indeed, Josie has teeth! I thought they were never going to come in. She would get really fussy and I would think, "Oh, maybe she is teething!" and then nothing would happen. Her first tooth finally came through on February 8th and the second followed about a week later.

Her little toothy smile just makes me laugh because it is so cute!

A Day

Earlier last week we were at my mom's and we were trying to teach Josie to put her hand over her mouth and move it up and down and make noises. She is getting it now and it is so funny to watch her! She also has picked up the "z" sound and always says, "zzzz, zzzz, zaza!" It makes me laugh because we have been working on letters with Delphia and so she is constantly saying, "Aaa, aaa, apple" etc and I think Josie has picked up a few sounds from that.

Delphia wouldn't let Josie draw on the Magnadoodle and that made Josie extremely sad.....

However, all it took was getting her bear to make her happy again!

Delphia still loves to draw and is constaly using her Doodle. She was drawing was drawing a snowman for me in this picture and she even gave him a belly button! She is a very good artist and I am constantly amazed at the things she draws and at how accurate they are!

Techno Josie

Josie loves anything that Delphia has, especially her MobiGo. Whenever Phia is playing it you better bet that Josie isn't far behind her.

If Delphia leaves it on the floor Josie notices first thing when we walk into a room and wants to get down to get it.

Occasionally we let Josie press buttons and play but most the time she is upset that it's not her toy!

California Girl

This is my little California girl. Early in February we decided that we going to take a trip to Disneyland this spring, so in preparation for nicer weather we took Delphia shopping for some much needed summer clothes. Her shorts still fit her as do her shirts from last year, but the shirts were too short.

We went to VF and Carters and found some darling things. I can tell she is going to like to shop and that she has her own opinion because she would pull down stuff she liked. At VF we were getting ready to check out and she saw some sunglasses and stated, "Mom, I need some sunglasses like Dad for the beach." I let her choose some and off to Carter we went where she decided that she needed some flip flops for the beach. She chose some and I told her they weren';t her size and sowed her the ones that were her size and the same style.

When we got home she tried them on with her swimming suit from last year and stated that she was ready for the beach!

Curly J

Josie has started to get some curl in her longer pieces of hair in the back. For awhile she just had one lone curl behind her left ear that I just loved. One morning we put a little mousse in her hair and found out that her hair really is pretty curly with a little help. I think that as it gets longer it will have some curl!

I also think she is starting to look more like Shane. Her eyes are like his and now she has curlish hair.

Dance Recital Take 2

Finally getting around to blogging about Phia's recital back in December.

When we got to the school we found that Phia needed to sit on the floor with her group and they had ladies to take them back when it was their turn to perform. Delphia wanted to sit next to her cousin Kaylea who is also in her dance class and just lives one street south of us.

Grandma and Grandpa Freeman, Amanda and Annie were there along with BJ and Haley. Josie enjoyed the performance and wanted to be standing on up and doing her own little dance.

We were a little worried about Delphia dancing because earlier in the day during the dress rehersal all she did was follow Kaylea around on stage and she was never in the front but floating around in the back where we couldn't see her. We told her numerous times afterwards to make sure she watched her teacher and to stay up front. She really did a great job that night!

Delphia and Kaylea after the recital....

Delphia posing.....

Being silly (as it was late) and had been a long day!

Days and even weeks after she was talking about her recital and I know she can't wait for her recital in May!

Sock Eater

For quite awhile now I have noticed that josie has a thing for socks. She loves to chew on sock and she even pulls her socks off her feet and they go right into her mouth!

We were doing laundry awhile back and she grabbed the laundry basket, pulled it towards her and grabbed a pair of sock and proceeded to chew on them!

Happy Waker

Josie is a pretty happy thing when she wakes up which surprises me since she doesn't like being alone. She wakes up in the morning and just talks and rolls and moves around her bed. Most morning she will be sitting up and talking to her monkey.

Earache and Sleepy

This was Delphia one night in January. She told me her ear hurt and wanted to know when Shane would be home to fix it. I told her that I could fix it, so we put some sugar water and a cotton ball in her ear and laid her on the couch.

A few minutes later I had to go downstairs to get some cans for dinner and I told Delphia to sit and visit with Josie and that I would be right back. When I came back upstairs this is what I found!

Valentine Cookies

My mom decided to have all the grandkids over on February 8th to make sugar cookies! She had the dough made ahead of time, but then the girls did the rest!

Delphia in her apron getting ready to roll out her dough...

Cutting her dough into heart shapes...

Her favorite part...eating the sugar cookie dough!

Showing her decorate cookie before she ate it!

Lucy the Dog?

We used to just call this toy the caterpillar but it now has a name. Delphia got this toy for her 1st birthday and she never really played with it. We recently got it out for Josie and Delphia immediately took a liking to in. It has balls that sit on top and roll around when pulled but Delphia doesn't care about that.

She calls the caterpillar Lucy and she will correct us if we don't call it Lucy. It sleeps by her bed (only because we told her she couldn't sleep with it) and if Lucy isn't upright she makes sure to turn her over.

Sister Princesses

The middle of January we had a activity for Activity Days on a Saturday for the girls and their parents. The theme was "Daughter of a King". It went really well and was fun but I am glad it is over and done. We had ordered crowns for the centerpieces and let the girls take one home.

We had extra and when Shane came over with the girls to help clean up Brenda's daughter asked if the girls could have one.

Fish Out of Water

Josie lovesher bathtime. We used to bath the girls together, but now when it is bathtime Delphia asks if she has to bath with Josie and the proceeds to tell us that she doesn't want to because Josie splashes and gets water in her eyes.

Shane gets Josie out and gets Phia in while Josie lays on the floor all wrapped in her towrl.

Just A Few December Days....

We were visitning at my mom's one day in December and she had a stocking laying out with fuzzy trim. Delphia spent the day filling it with things and my mom told her she could take it home. A couple days later I came in the room to her using it as a hat and telling me she was Santa Claus.

Studio 5 Contest Entry

A local TV show (Studio 5) recently hosted a contest in which you made something for $5. You could use 1 thing that you had on hand and then buy the rest with your $5 budget. I had the frame on hand and painted it blacks and just added the rest. I tried a couple different things and ended up with this.

I wasn't going to enter because I didn't have the time and the dealing was coming up. Brenda e-mailed me and said she had entered and wanted to know if I had so I whipped this together the day the entries were due.
