Moses the Camel...

Last Saturday Phia got the chance to see a live camel named Moses. My parents YSA ward was holding a food drive but they also had a camel, Belgian horses and donkeys, complete with the three wisemen.

They had activities inside the church where they could color and make a star ornament. Delphia loved the whole thing except when we tried to get her to ride the donkey. She really enjoyed the wagon ride through the snow pulled by the horses and doing the ornament craft.

She enjoyed the muffins, hers was "cloclate" and a little bit of hot chocolate. She didn't want to leave and talked Grandma into letting her pet the horses one more time before we got in the car.

Computer Girl

We got a computer while in Idaho for Delphia from my aunt and uncle. When we got home it didn't have anything on it for her age level. When we went to the library later that week I decided to pick up some CD-ROM's for her to put in the computer. It is all I have been able to do to keep her off. She loves Reader Rabbit Toddler and the I Spy game. She is gettiing pretty good at moving the mouse to where she wants and clicking in the right spot. It's amazing how far she has come in one week. I have been telling her that playing the computer is a treat and that she needs to listen to me if she wants to play it. It has worked pretty well, the only hard part is getting her off after she has been playing. She was in tears this day and kept saying, "Pleeeeeeease mommy!"
She really likes the shape game, coloring game, train game and bubble game on Reader Rabbit but they are really too easy for her so I had Shane pick some new ones out at the library today!

Why Daddy Works....

Last week Delphia was having a bit of a meltdown and telling me she wanted Daddy and that she wanted to hold him. I asked her if she knew where Daddy was and she responded, "Work, all the time." I asked her if she knew why Daddy worked thinking that I could explain to her that we have a house, food etc because he makes money working. However before I could explain to her and she didn't hesitate for a minute after I asked she said, "Yes, for bananas!" I had to laugh because I knew why she thought that. Whenever our banana supply gets low I tell her we will ask Dad to pick some up from Costco. She knows he works at Costco, so he must work for bananas! I then explained to her why Daddy worked and she said, "But I really, really want to hold him. Yes, our little girl loves her Daddy!

It's a.....

GIRL!
Her cute little profile....
We found out on Thursday and are really excited for Delphia to have a sister! The ultrasound tech measured the legs and said they look normal. Dr Stevens said he would look at the ultrasound when Phia came in January 22nd so we will see what he says. She weighs 7 oz right now. We are going to name her Josie Noelle. Delphia can even tell you what we are naming her if you ask her. She says, "Dosie Elle." This morning she said to Shane and I, "I need a sister." We are excited!

Festival of Trees

We took Phia to the Festival of Trees on Thursday after my ultrasound. I love going and looking at the trees but to be honest my favorite thing is the gingerbread houses! I have always wanted to make a giant gingerbread house. Not sure what I would do with it or where I would put it. I just think that decorating with candy sounds fun and gtting to frost and make something really neat. Delphia did pretty good but realy wasn't that interested unless the tree had something she liked on it. She just had fun hanging onto the chains and walking down the aisles.
This was the biggest gingerbread house there and it was amazing!

I really liked this birdhouse with all the birds hanging above it!

This one I took just for Shanes brother, Justin.

And finally a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs house! (One of my favorite childrens books!)

Temple Square

We took Delphia to Temple Square to see the light on Tuesday night. She was really excited to ride the train (aka Trax). Last year we just drove down. She kept telling us she as going to drive the train.
We got on the train and a couple stops later two policemen got on to check tickets. After they were done checking tickets the gave Phia a Junior Transit Authority badge that we let her stick on her coat.
It was a beautiful night and not too cold, like it is now. It's amazing what a difference a few days can make weather wise.
She loved anything that had water and pointed them out to us and wanted to watch the water and touch it.
We took her up to see the Christus which she enjoyed. We asked her if she knew what the temple was and she told us it was a castle, so we told her it was the temple. Usually she sees a temple and knows what it is but maybe seeing it in person it looked like a castle to her.

Just a couple other pictures.....

On the way home trax was packed so Delphia and I sat and Shane stood with the stroller. A guy sat down across from us and he had a Burker King bag. Lately Phia has been real big on haburgers, fries and ketchup. I was hoping he would eat on the train because I knew Phia would want some. He pulled out a few fries and she quietly said she wanted a bite. A couple stop later he pulled out his hamburger and she says, "I have a bite?" I told her no and he just smiled and said, "I don't think so sweetie!" She just watched him as he put ketchup packets on his burger and said, "He put ketchup on burger?" I was prepared for her to have a fit but when I told her it was his dinner and reminded her that she had eaten pizza she was fine with it.

It was fun to take her and see her amazement with everything tat isn't a big deal to us. We look forward to going together next year!

Thanksgiving.....

Sadly this is the one picture I got over Thanksgiving.....

My mom bought chocolate turkeys to set at each plate and that is all Phia could think about all through dinner. We finally just let her eat hers and she was done. She had a couple bites of other things but all she really wanted was "cloclate."

Thanksiving was wonderful. It was my whole family plus Melody, Mark, Marla, Conner and Riley. We ae way too much food and had a second turkeythat took forever to finish cooking. We played games and the girls played and didn't want to nap. Shane got up and played in our ward Turkey Bowl and really enjoyed it!

Shane had to work on Friday and Saturday so Phia and I went to Tremonton on Friday with my parents and Dallen and onto Idaho Friday night through Saturday. I hadn't been to Idaho for almost 5 years and it was a lot of fun.

Delphia had fun at the Cook get together with Laura and the basketball. She would have Phia toss it and she would catch it and Laura would shoot it into the basket. The first time Laura didn't make it Phia threw up her arms and said, "Ohhhhh!" It was fun watching her interact with people. Laura had her giggling when they sat down to roll the ball and Phia would close her legs and just giggle her contagious giggle!

That night we headed to Pocatello and stayed with Lisa and Doug and their girls. Phia hadn't met any of them. She was very excited to see Grandma GG again. She loved Brindy, Doug's dog. She kept getting kisses from her. The next morning she sat on her bed and said, "I love Brindi. Brindi is cute!" She was very gentle with her and didn't tease her too much.

On Friday night we went to a Mexican place for dinner with everyone. I ordered Delphia tacos thinking it would be my version of a tcao. It came out and was two little corn tortillas and some kind of beef. No cheese, lettuce, sour cream.....I was afraid she wouldn't eat them but she ate every bite!

It was nice to see everyone and was a fun quick trip except for the drive home. I will spare you all the lovely details!

Miss Artsy

Delphia loves to do anything artsy. She loves to color, watercolor, cut, glue etc. The other day we got her watercolors out and she enjoyed painting on big sheets of paper that we had picked up at the Distribution Center downtown.

I think she painted 3 or 4 seets. She occasionally wanted a different brush or new water in her bowl but for the most part she just wanted to paint. She likes dipping her brush into 6 or 7 different colors and then painting on her paper. It usually comes out some sort of muddy brown or ugly green.

She has also been having a lot of fun with the file folder games that made when we were first married. She can do them no problem so I need to make some harder ones since she is so into learning. She lies matching the socks and snakes, mathcing shapes to the circus and halloween one and matching colors to the candles and pies.
