Be Good!

Yesterday was a rough day and I realized what a tease Delphia is! Now I will say, she comes by it rightly but sometimes enough is just enough! I can't even say how she was being a tease....just every time I asked her to do something she would smile her easing smile and do the opposite or pretend to do as I asked but then change her mind at the last minute. I had talked to Shane during the day and told him she was being a big tease but I think he thought I was simply exaggerating. However, when he got home and she started in on teasing him he had enough after about 2 hours! We got after her and she knew we were upset. We told her when she was in bed that she had to be good tomorrow or she wouldn't go to the park with Ruby and Emma. I told her I would call Aunt Ashley and tell her we couldn't go because Phia hadn't been good. She went to sleep and slept until 5:30 when she came in our bed because she was crying, "Mommy, Daddy save me!" When she woke up she asked to go to the big park. I asked her what she needed to do to go to the big park and she said, "Be good." I told her she as right and asked her what be good meant and she said, "Don't tease!" She hit the nail on the head and we had a 100% better day with a happier Mom, Dad and Phia! It made me laugh that she remembered the previous nights conversation.

Let's Pretend....

Pretending is new part of our lives in the Freeman household. Nothing is as it seems and we are always guessing as to what we are eating or what animal Delphia is. She loves to play with her Fisher-Price Noah's Ark and her Farm. Today she was in true Phia form having her zebras play....

She had them kiss.....

and even threw a fit in true Phia form!

She played with her purse and even pretended it was a drum!

Delphia Mae - Practically Perfect In Every Way

We pulled out the measuring tape tonight to measure Delphia for a dress I want to make. Shane is the lucky one to go pick up the fabric tomorrow before they run out. She used to hate the measuring tape but tonight it was a different story! After we measured her she wanted to measure a whole bunch of different body parts on herself - eyes, legs, head, belly. She also measured Shane eyes, glasses, nose and mouth . She sure cracks us up!

Pumpkin Festival

Ashley's old neighborhood has a community garden and yesterday was their annual pumpkin festival. We weren't able to go last year so we really wanted to go this year. I have been talking about it with Delphia all week and she was excited about it and knows that a pumpkin is orange. We got there and we found this pumpkin for Phia and she was quite tickled with it. I think she liked how small it is!

We chose another bigger orange pumpkin and walked around a bit. When I was paying for our pumpkins Delphia saw some chickens and wanted to go see them. We walked over and her and Emma were watching them. A boy came over and picked one of the chickens up and was calling her Ophelia. It was a very calm chicken so Phia decided she was going to pet it.

After the novelty of the chickens wore off Phia saw this cat in the pumpkins and was watching it and saying, "kitty." It was a fake cat but I told Phia to pet it so she inched closer till she was close enough and started to pet it.

A Little Wagon Ride

Yesterday we were at my parents and my dad bought a wagon. Now when I say I wagon I am not talking about a red shiny wagon, the Radioflyer kind. I am talking about something that looks a little more like this.....

My dad took them on a little jaunt through the backyard when the back tire completely fell off

He got the wheel back on and took them all on a ride down the street. When he got back he was chuckling and I asked what he was laughing at. He said the girls were funny on the ride. Everytime they went over a bump they would say, "Bump!" and laugh and giggle.

A a side note, my parents watched Phia for about 30 minutes last night. Chloe was also there so they decided to take them on another wagon ride. My mom said she pulled it halfway and my dad the other. I asked why it was so heavy and apparently one of them was also riding on it being pulled!

Happy & Sad

002 003

Delphia got a gigantic Mr Potatohead for her birthday. We were in her room one day and she turned around with it in her mouth and would make it smile and then frown. She thought it was hilarious and had to have me try it also.

Sprinkler Time

Phia used to hate sprinklers but now she loves them thanks to the Herriman Splash Pad and Grandma coaxing her through the sprinklers! The expressions on her face were priceless the whole time she was running through the sprinkler. Grandma kept turning it up a little a time so she could get used to it, but one it got so high Delphia wouldn't go through it so it was turned back down!

This is my favorite picture! She got this look everytime her face would get wet!

Mmmmm...s!

Shane and Delphia made cookies at the beginning of the month and she loved them! It cracked me up that she just layed on the floor withhe cookie and milk and let Shane take pictures!

Outgrown Bumblebee

We pulled out the fall/halloween decorating stuff so that I could get my fall stuff out. Delphia had fun pulling out her trick or treat bag and her halloween costume from last year. She wanted to try it on. It is a little small and she has to lift her head up to zip it all the way. We are still working on what she is going to be this year. I want to make her a costume but when we went to look at pattern she fell on the cart and hurt her eye. She was in no mood to choose a pattern so we will ave to go back again!

Earrings?

  • Last week when we were at my mom's, Delphia noticed her earrings. My mom sked her if she wanted earrings and she said that she did. My mom took her downstairs and let her choose some stick on jewels for scrapbooking to put on her ears. She was tickled pink and kept pushing her hair behind her ears. However when I tried to take a picture she wanted nothing to do with it!

    Phi-asms

This morning we were getting ready to get Delphia in the tub when she got the hiccups. he hiccuped a few times and looked at me and told me, "Mama I burped. It was hidden in my bum!" I laughed and told her I didn't think that sound came from her bum. She looked at me and said, "Oh sorry! It was hidden in my neck!" I was just cracking up the whole time she was telling me this!
