Puking Night

This pretty much sums up my evening....

DSC00342

Yep, you got it right. That is compliments of the Phia. She drank a bottle and then we ate and she was playing on the floor with grandpa. It was time to get in pj's so we went and did that and I was carrying her down to bed when she threw up. I hollered for my mom to take her so I could clean up but before my mom could get there she threw up 2 more times. Nothing like throw-up down the shirt. We got into the kitchen and my mom went to take her and she threw up on my face, glasses and in my hair. My mom is holding Phia and telling my dad to go get the camera because they have to have a picture of this and telling me that I can't wash until they get a picture. YUCK! Now we really have some laundry to do, my clothes, her pjs, her doggie and her blanket. Wait till Shane sees this picture, he thought a little throw up on his shoulder was bad on Tuesday. He has nothing on me now!

She has never been a spitty baby and lately she has been throwing up after a car ride from or to Eagle Mountain. This was the first time she has thrown up and not been in the car. I asked the pediatrician about it and he wasn't real concerned so I guess we will just try and make it through this stage.

These are her little devil horns, fairy wings by day and horns at night. Just kidding, she is never a little devil, but always my sweet girl! I's just wondering what mischeivious thing she is thinking in the second picture.

Here's my happy little buglet. She loves to rock in her chair in her room and really gets going. She loves picture shoots and is all smiles. We spend a lot of time in this chair, reading, napping, rocking and playing.

She demonstrates her waving and clapping in this video.

Today we went to Barnes & Noble so I could spend my gift card from Mothers Day. I love childrens books and Phia loves to look at them and have me read them to her. So, like a lot of mothers I spent my gift card on my little girl. Who could resist the cute Sandra Boynton books. We got....

She is the funnest author and I love getting her books from the library. I couldn't resist buying them to enjoy with Phia.

We also made oatmeal raisin cookies for my dad today. We found the recipe on allrecipes.com. They turned out absolutely delicious and Spencer told me they were the bomb.

The rest of the pictures are older pictures that were on my mom's camera but that I thought were post worthy for great grandmas.

Long Weekend Continued

Phia is napping so I will try and get everything else about the weekend posted.....

Sunday we went to church and then to Shanes parents. She had Linda and Doug and their kids over so that Grandma Schow wouldn't have to worry about feeding them. After dinner she had invited the rest of the family over for dessert (brownies and ice cream with chocolate syrup!) Yum! We had a good time visiting with all the family and didn't leave until 10:30 that evening.

Monday we were planning on putting our garden in but we woke up to pouring rain. We did eventually get it planted throughout the day wen the rain slowed down but boy were we muddy! We planted 2 kinds of tomatos, jalepenos, cilantro, green peppers, red peppers, 2 kinds of pumpkins, zucchini, squash, corn and watermelon. We are also going to get a start of rhubarb from my mom. Hopefully we get lots of wonderful vegetables for the summer and fall! It was quite a bit of work and was made even harder by a baby who would lay down and then wake up screaming 15 minutes later. She did this for her 2 naps and at bedtime.

Tuesday I had an appointment with Sally at Dr Foley's and my mom wasn't feeling up to watching Phia so Shanes mom said she would watch her for us. We drove into Lehi that afernoon and went to lunch at Chili's. Shane got Phia out of the car and she threw up on his shoulder and en all over the parking spot. We got her and Shane cleaned up and went to eat. We splurged on dessert and it was delicious! It was a molten white chocolate cake with raspberry sauce, white chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. We heade to Shane's parents and visited until we had to leave. We headed to Salt Lake to LDS Hospital for my appointment. They put me on an oral B-12 med and told me to take a multi-vitamin. Other than that the visit was uneventful and we then headed to get Phia. We had dinner at Shane's parents and fed Phia some banana-cado and headed to Costco to get my vitamins. The pharmacy was closed though so we just headed home.

9 Months and Counting!

Today was Phia's 9 months appointment with Dr. Erickson. Drumroll please......she was 19.42 lbs (59%), 26.57 inches (17%) and head circumference 18.0 in (91%). I ended up taking her to her appointment by myself which turned out to not be a big deal because she is such a good baby! She wouldn't smile or wave at anyone during her appointment. She was all business and the only sound she made was a fuss when he was looking in her right ear. I have never seen her so quiet! She did do her "what do you want" pose for the receptionist and they all got a kick out of that. We got back to my mom's and she looked at me when I opened the door and then closed her eyes so put her down for a nap. That's what happens when she didn't go to bed till 10:15 last night and was up at 3:30.

This was taken today after her nap. She is proudly showing off her tooth.

These are her 9 month pictures. We had to take a couple to get a good one.

Official 9 month picture! What a doll!

We had a pretty busy 4 day weekend....here goes the run down!

Saturday we hung out at the house and got some cleaning done until afternoon rolled around. We also got a 15x15 ft garden tilled in the back and then decided that wasn't enough space so we had to run into Lehi before Shanes Grandma Schow's 80th birthday party to get more manure. Let me tell you, this manure stunk! It's not a wise idea to let manure sit in your car for the evening. We wandered over to Target in search of a watering can, which we finally found at Wal-Mart. We also got some African violet food and Miracle Grow. We then went to the birthday party and had Hawaiian Haystacks and visited with the Schow side of the family. On the way home we stopped at Wal-Mart and guess what I found.....

It took everything I had not to dance in the check-out line!

To be continued when I get a minute....my Phia needs me to cuddle her!

My Sweet Girl!

Phia's new favorite thing is her jumper! For the longest time she didn't know what to do in so she would just stand there. Shane and I had tried to get her to jump and actually jumped her up and down trying to get her to do it. Last week my mom came down and we put Phia in the jumper and my mom was actually jumping in front of her and she kinda started to jump around but was still trying to figure out how to get her legs to move so she could jump. Well, now it's all she wants to do if she sees it in the scrapbook room door. She grabs onto it if we pass it and will look at it and point. Yesterday we were in the scrapbook room and she was kinda fussy and I didn't know what was wrong. I finally figured out that she wanted to jump. I put her in the jumper and she was as happy as a lark for about 25 minutes!

020

Last Saturday I tried to put her hair into pigtails and she looked so cute! On Sunday we did the pigtail thing again and I just had to get a couple pictures of her! I am amazed at how big she is and how fast she is growing. She is such a smart baby and just amazes me. After we took the pictures I sat down to look at them and realized that she really looks a lot like some of my baby pictures.

019 018

We also had to get one of her little tooth. Only one has broken through but it is sure cute!

017

Shane got home earlyish last night so we went for a walk. We got Phia in her stroller ad got my shoes on and I had to have Shane run and get the camera. While Shane went to get the camera Phia decided that she needed to poop, so then Shane had to go change her diaper before we could go for our walk. She sure loves her stroller and is great on walks!

014 013

This morning I got her in the tub and was then getting her dressed. I was putting her hair into piggy tails and she was playing with the squirt bottle. I put my hand down to get her rubberband and the bed was all wet! My sweet little stinker had somehow screwed the top off the bottle and gotten herself all wet along with the bed. Oh well, it will dry!

Lots of New Doings!

  • Lots of New Doings

    037

This is Phias new thing as of last week. She likes pointing at just about everything! She points at people to show us that there is someone there, she points at stuff she wants, stuff she is noticing and things that make her upset. It is nice for her to be able to tell us what she wants but at the same time it is hard to ignore her if it is something you don't want her to have.

    036

Phi had just woke up from a nap with daddy and was enjoying cuddlig with him. They fell asleep on our bed and when I went in she looked like she was going to fall off the bed. She loves to sleep with her head below your body and the rest of her body on top of yours.

    034 035

Since we have a new computer the old mouse became Phias. She really enjoys playing with it as long as the mouse that works isn't in her sight. Otherwise she prefers to play with the working mouse. She still loves her picture taken as you can tell by her showing off in the second picture. She makes all these cute new sounds and I pull the camera out to record them and she stops and points at the camera and just grins.

    033 032

These are from Tuesday morning when we went to my mom's. Phia threw up in her carseat because she is so congested and so I just got her dressed for the day even though it was 6:00 in the morning. She loves stuffed animals and had chosen her doggie to take to Grandmas. He got left at Grandmas though on Tuesday and so she had to enjoy her other stuffed animals while she was going to sleep.031

My mom's ward had a mother daughter night on Tuesday and she invited Ashley and I. My mom just took off decorating her cake and had hers done in no time. Ashley started her cake with a nice frosting ladder and decided she didn't like it and spread it across the cake and started eating hers. I have always wanted to take a cake decorating class so I decided that I was going to enjoy the experience. I took my time on my cake and we even had to fix the yellow frosting bag for my cake after my mom made it explode and the tip popped out. Shane thought my cake was wonderful, which makes me laugh because it is far from perfect. Nevertheless I had a lot of fun working on my cake and decided that I really would love to take a class, or two, or three.

Well, I will post tomorrow about my fun day with my mom. I need to go hold my baby though as Grandma is trying to get her to sleep.

    Tons of Catch Up!

Finally! I can blog again. I attempted to reformat my hard drive on the 29th of April and one of the back-up CD's was bad so a new tower was in order. We ordered it through Costco and it got here last Thursday but it has been busy around here.

    224

We took this picture of Phia last Thursday. The smile is compliments of Aunt Ashley who was standing behind me cheering Phia on. We put this in Shanes mom's Mothers Day present and we are using it for the Pony Express Days Baby Contest here in Eagle Mountain.

    230

This picture is for Ashley. She gave this to Phia for her baby showe and it is a 12 month outfit and I have been waiting to put her it in. We put it on her yesterday and it just barely fits around her little tummy. It was sure cute on her though and she was loving chewing and chomping on the buckles everytime they got near her mouth.206

We got her some biter biscuits to chomp on as they take longer to eat than the little cereals. She can seriously chow them down in nothing flat. However the cereals are MUCH less messier! The bib was covered in goo and so were her hands and face. She sure does enjoy them though. Last week she had one and daddy cleaned her up. I gave her one when I made dinner the other night and wasn't sure how to go about cleaning her up. I finally threw a towel over me and carried her at arms length into the bathroom and prmptly gave her a tubby. This picture cracks me up because she was trying to offer me a bite.

    195

Just another cute picture in her skort.

    192 186

It's bathtime! Phia loves bath time, in fact she loves it so much that we shut the shower curtain so that we can wash her and keep an eye on her because she is such a splasher. When Shane is home he gets to bath her and he was in for a bath of his own! The floor was wet and Shane was wet but Phia was having a ball! Shane and I have decided she looks the frog outfit on Super Mario 3 in her bath towel!

    174

What a ham! She is pretty much constantly smiling. There are days when she's not quite so happy but they are far and few between. Everyone is always commenting on what a happy baby she is and I have to admit that I am awfully lucky!

    159 162

Shane and I were folding laundry a couple weeks ago and she kept eyeing the laundry basket. Shane set her in it and she was as happy as a lark! She played with her toys and the sock balls. Laundry was folded without incident! The next week I was folding clothes while Shane was at work and Phia clearly wanted to be in the basket so I set her in and once again laundry was a success!

Last Friday Phia and I were singing songs and she opened her mouth only for me to see a tooth starting to pop through. I guess that's what happens when you tell your child she is a late bloomer wondering when she is going to get teeth since her cousin 6 weeks older has 2 and her cousin 3 months younger is starting to teethe. This was on Thursday that I told her that on the next day we have a tooth!

She has started to wave in her own cute way and she kind of flips her little wrist. I love waving to her just so I can see her wave back.

Last Thursday my mom, Dallen and I were watching "The Thrill of it All" and Phia was playing on the floor happily. Near the end of the movie she was getting fussy and nothing I was doing was calming her down. I set her on the floor and went to get her pj's and a bottle and when I came back down she was sitting on Grandmas lap holding her toes as happy as a little lark. She started to make this funny noise that went something like "gluck". It was hilarious. My mom was imitating her and she just kept doing it. It now soumetimes comes out gluck and sometimes as yuck. She is my little doll baby who constantly makes me smile and I am unable to imagine life without her.

Well, I better go help Shane wih dinner. I will post about Mothers Day tomorrow!
