Gingerbread Party

The first part of December we got together with my family to have a Christmas Party for the kids. The main highlight was making gingerbread houses. We had dinner and then it was onto the making of houses.

We had Delphia knead the frosting white we got the pieces broken in half. Luckily the house was preassembled.

Then it was time for Daddy to pipe on the frosting so Delphia could stick the candy on. She did pretty well getting the candy on the house and not too many pieces made it into her mouth.

She sprinkled cocohut onto the ground of her house for snow and even tried to taste it. However she forgot that she doesn't like coconut and was soon scraping every piece off her tongue.

Josie sat in her highchair trying to figure out what we were doing.

The completed house.....

The completed house with it builder.

I was amazed at how well it held her attention and how long it lasted.

After the houses were done we played Christmas Bingo twice and Grandma read a Christmas story.

Temple Square

We went to Temple Square for Shane's Birthday, but we got off to a late start since Delphia had dance and I had Activity Days.

Delphia was most excited to ride the train (TRAX). She loved the train last year and has just been waiting to ride again. There were hardly any people on the way downtown and we got a seat and didn't have to worry about Phia being too noisy.

Josie wasn't too sure about the whole thing and she looked like the State Puff Marshmallow in her pink coat.

We got off the tran and got hot chocolate and wandered around Temple Square. We went in to see the Christus and had 10 minutes till it closed when Delphia announced she needed to go potty. Shane took her to the bathroom and when they got out we only had 3 minutes or so to get up the ramp. Shane took Phia up so he could do it fast. Delphia got to the top and saw the Christus and said, "Daddy, He is so beautiful!"

They came back down and we saw the nativity outside and headed back to the train. It was a short night but perfect for the 2 girls. We left around 6:00 but we didn't get home until after 11:00 with the 45 minute drive each way and then the TRAX ride.

On the way home on TRAX Delphia was goofy and started singing Ruldolph loudly and some other guy on the train started singing with her. He would say a line and wait for her to say the next line. It was pretty funny!

Josie Doll

These pictures were taked on November 28, 2010 before we headed off to church.

Laughing

Bounce

We picked up a Jenny Jump-Up for Josie and this is her first time in it. We later ended up taking it back because she really didn't like being in it and would just cry!

Hats For Sale....

Back in November I read "Hats For Sale" to Delphia. About a week later she came out with multiple hats saying that they were for sale. I got her to give one to Josie and pose for a couple pictures!

We kept trying to get a picture of Josie and she kept pulling this face.

Delphia's "Short Cut"

Delphia told me to put these on my blog so Grandma could see her "short cut!"

She's a Turtle!

These pictures were taken awhile back and I just never blogged about them. For some reason Delphia kept getting mad at me when I would take the pillow off of Josie and she just kept putting it back on.

She finally told me to leave it there because it was her turtle shell!

Dollybug #2

This morning after I got Josie dressed I thought she looked so cute! I couldn't stop hugging and kissing he and had to take a couple pictures!

I go back to when Delphia was this little and I could dress her how I wanted and do her hair all cute. I enjoyed this time. Fast forward to Delphia at 3 and she wants to choose what she wears and her favorite items of clothes happen to be my least favorite. She is predictable in what she chooses depending on what is clean or dirty. If her Zoey underwear are clean she wears them, otherwise it is pink ballerina Dora next in line. She loves her Gap pants that her pink fleece and her green polka-dotted pants with the owl shirt. Fact is, it doesn't matter if it matches or not! She doesn't want her hair done or even combed....this too will pass. The day will come when she wants her hair pretty, just not today!

Josirella

Here's my little house elf, actually bolf of them are my house elves. Nothing was making Josie happy and so Shane put her in the Moby while he cleaned the kitchen up. She of course had her own ideas how to sweep the kitchen floor and got extremely upset when Shane wouldn't let her hold the broom.

I can already tell that she is going to be a little firecracker! She likes to have her way and she puts Delphia in her place by pulling her hair or having a tantrum!

6 Months...A Little Late

I really can't believe that Josie is 6 months, 7 by the time I get around to blogging about it. I know you hear moms say that the time flies and they grow up so quickly and you think, whatever. But it really is true.

She had her 6 month appointment on October 13 and here are her stats:
Weight 14.4 lbs (21%)
Length 25.59 inches (46%)
Head 17.5 inches (93%)

Josie is just a joy and it is so much fun to watch her little personality (big personality?) start to show! She is seriously a ham! She loves to talk and her favorite sound for the mounth was "gee!" She is now making a "kkkkk" sound. She loves sticking her tongue out the side of her mouth and loves to smile.

She loves bathtime with Delphia and loves to splash even though Phia tells her not to. She loves when Delphia pays attention to her. She still doesn't love food at this point. (Although last Monday I discovered that if she can feed herself she will eat.) She has started to like the little Gerber puffs and the yogurt bites that they have. She just still really likes her bottle and I think is going through a growth spurt because she drinks 6 oz and then 2 hours later wants 6 more and is waking up more during the night to eat.

Josie loves to grab Delphias hair and just delights in grabbing faces. She likes to hold your finger while she eats her bottle and she hold her bottle really funny. She doesn't hold the sides with both hands, she holds the bottom with one hand so she can play with her hair, blanket etc with the other.

She is really into rolling over right now and constantly tries to roll over while drinking her bottle or when her diaper is being changed. We call her our Roly-Poly!

She also gets called Josie J, and Josie J. Pugmire!

She loves when Delphia is in bed and she has Mom and Dads attention all on her!

We love her!

Halloween 2010

For Halloween this year everyone came out to our house to trick-or-treat. Grandma was in Idaho for Cory's Homecoming so Grandpa came out by himself.

We had a ward Fall Carnival that we went to earlier in the day. They had hot dogs, chips, doughtnuts and homemade rootbeer. Delphia had a lot of fun playing the different little games in the classrooms and winning little prizes. It was warm enought outside that we walked over to the church without jackets.

That evening we had lasagne and garlic bread before everyone came. The cousins all got there and we headed out even though it had decided to rain. Delphia walked for most of our street but then complained that her legs hurt. We went back to our house and Shane decided just to put the candy on the porch and come with everyone. We headed over to Hickock and then over to the house decorated like a pirate ship for homemade doughnuts and hot chocolate!

This is the only picture I got of Delphia in her costume. She was an "elephalunt", as was Josie.

Josie and Eli.

Josie the elephant.

Josie the stuffed animal elephant! Her hood kept falling over her face and she would just sit there. It looked like she was a stuffed animal!

Chickens Eat Your Tongue!

Delphia has recently started sticking her tongue out when she is upset with us or wanting to sass us. I wasn't sure where she had gotten it from until I realized that she loves Peter Pan and Return to Neverland and that the lost boys stick their tongues out at Hook.

We had talked to her mulyiple times and put her in time out for sticking her tongue out. Nothing seemed to sink in however.

Until she was at my parents last Saturday and she stuck her tongue out. I guess grandpa told her if he saw her do it again he would send her out to the garage to have the chickens in his garage eat her tongue. That got through to her because since he told her that she has only stuck her tongue out once.

This of course has led to other topics containing chickens. Last night for instance she walked out with Shane to the car to carry stuff out to go home. She carried Josies dirty diaper out to put in the garbage and when she got on the porch she tossed it into the yard and told Shane that they would just leave it there for the chickens. Shane put the things in the car and went to pick up the diaper and Delphia got very upset telling him that it was for the chickens. Shane picked it up and told her they would feed it to the chickens in the backyard. She agreed and told him she would throw it in the garage for the chickens. Shane got to the back and lifted the garbage can lid and told her to throw it in. She told him that the chickens weren't in the garbage, that they were in the garage. Shane told her that the chickens that eat diapers were in the garbage and that the chickens in the garage didb't eat diapers just so she would throw it in!

Housekeeping

Delphia got a set that has an iron, ironing board, little vaccuum, garbage ca, broom and dust pan for Christmas last year and just recently has been really into pretending with it! Whenever she gets out the iron she insists on having a shirt on her ironing board out of her closet to iron.

Josie decided to get in on the fun!

This a little Halloween glow stick wand that was in the advent calendar for Halloween. I didn't get Josie one because I thought she was too little. Come to find out she loves it and doesn't want to give it back to Delphia.

A couple side notes.....

We went on the hay ride and I was the only adult with the 4 girls. When the tractor started to go it jerked a bit but we were fine. When it had gone around the block and was at a stop the guy next to me got down and put the wood block down for us to get off. All of the sudden the tractor lurched and people fell off. I looked for the girls real quick and had Ruby, Chloe and Phia but no Emma. I turn around and there was Emma on the road! Delphia tells us all day long that she didn't know the tractor was going to tip over.

We also went on a train ride around the lake. I told my mom I wasn't sure that I could get in because I would have to lift my leg over the edge. My mom, however was bound and determined to get me in the train. We finally did it, but I think it would have been easier if Josie hadn't of been in the Moby, I didn't have the diaper bag and Phia's treat bag!

On the way home I had Ruby, Phia and Jopsie in my van. Josie was initially asleep, but woke up on the way to my mom's and was apparently starving. She was bawling and choking on her slobber. I puleed over on I-215 to make her a bottle and calm her down. Phia was asleep and Ruby says to me, "Nana, I need to go potty!" I asked if she could hold it and she said no. She asked if she could just go on the side of the road. I told her that I would get Phia's potty out of the back and she could use that. That was fine with her and so she did but then she said that she needed me tobuckle her. I wasn't sure how I was going to climb in the back and over a toilet full of pee. I called my mom to see where they were and next thing I know I hear her voice asking me if we are okay. I explained the situation and so she climbed in and buckled Ruby and off we went!

Sisters and Friends

I love taking picture of these two together! They are just so sweet and cute with each other. Delphia never fails to make Josie laugh and it just makes me smile! I often find Josie just watching Phia and waiting for her to pay her some attention!

She is so excited that she can sit up!

Delphia and Josie love to play with her stuffed animals on her bed. Delphia always gets monkey and Josie gets Mrs Milk Potts (that's another post!) Phia plays make believe and Josie chews on Mrs Milk Potts tail and paws until they are beyond slobbery! I think she is going to have 7 animals to sleep with just like her sister!

Playing

The girls love to play on the floor...

Delphia decided they need to pose for the camera so she was trying to get Josie to cooperate, but she had other plans.

What a girl! Most days she is just a delight, but lately she has been very emotional and sassy. We have talked about it with her and has gotten a lot better. She absolutely adores Josie and is very patient with her hair pulling and face grabbing. She is very protective of her and willing to get toys or a binkie as needed.

Josie loves this toy! It cracks me up because the look on her face looks as if she is puzzled and trying to figure something out!

The girls playing together. Josie loves to watch Delphia when she runs around and is just amazed with her! Delphia has had little interest in this toy until I get it out for Josie and then she insists that it is hers and that Josie can't play with it. So, we have to explain to her that she needs to share and that Josie shares her toys with her. It seems to work for the most part for now.
