Pony Express Parade

The Pony Express Day Parade is kind of my "it's been another year" marker. It is something we go to every year and Delphia looks forward to it as soon as we tell her it is coming up.

Delphia after having me tell her to smile normally!

Josie was really good for most of the parade, except she just wanted to go and play in the road. We had to keep calling her back to us and have her sit on our laps. During the parade they got little beach balls, so we blew one up for Josie to play with.

This was Bank of American Forks float. While we were driving to the parade route to park Delphia saw a hot air balloon shaped like a pig. We thought that it might be in the parade, but we didn't see it at all the rest of the day.

No idea why Delphia has her eyes crossed but I love this picture of her in a hat they were throwing out in the parade. She is afraid to stand by the road and get candy so we have to coax her into sitting on Shanes lap so she can grab the candy. We sat by Ruby and Emma and they had no problem being in the gutter and grabbing all the candy they could. Every year I wonder when Delphia is going to really get into the whole parade/candy thing. Maybe next year....

This is how we ended the parade with Josie. She got a sucker at one point in the parade and sat really still for a bit when I looked down at her she had her sucker stuck in her hair and we had to pull it out. We got her another sucker and she ate that while she was trying not to fall asleep, although eventually she gave in.

Delphia came up with a new phrase while we were at the parade. We were watching the parade entries go by when all of the sudden she started saying, "Nice workin' with you!" to every float!

Delphia kept watching for her dance teacher who was in the parade. She even was asking if she would see her at the carnival and we told her that we probably wouldn't. However, when we got to the carnival they were leaving and Phia said, "See, I told you I would see my teacher!"
