So Much.....

A month has gone by and there has been so much going on that I am not sure I can remember everything. So much for writing and remembering every moment. I suppose it's just not going to happen and probably never will.

We had Shane's Aunt Mary's funeral. Here is a picture of the casket at the cemetary. Shane was asked to give the family prayer and he did a wonderful job. Amanda gave the life sketch and Justin and BJ said opening and closing prayers. It was a very nice funeral but was a touch day on Shane. Delphia didn't know what to think of the whole thing and just wanted me because she didn't understand why her dad was crying. We went to the luncheon and Shane managed to pour himself some water and then spill it all over the table, I figured if anything was spilled it would be because of Phia. Everyone at the table was giving him a hard time.

Delphia (right) and Kaylea (left) They loved the fur covered chairs. During the burial part Phia just wanted to sit in the special chairs.

010

On 3/30 Phia finally decided she wanted to give the stairs a try. She was walking if she could hold our hands. It was right before bed when she wanted to go down. We had to throw teddy bear down to bribe her initially but then she didn't want to stop. (She is very good at delaying things she doesn't want to do such as going to bed.) We finally made her stop while she was crying, "Stairs, stairs!"

013

Everything still gets dipped in ketchup and if you ask her if she wants

020 021

She has recently rediscovered diving in the laundry basket and cries when she tries get out because her feet aren't touching the ground and she is afraid she is going to fall. She dives in and then tosses the clothes out all over the floor.

028

She has finally figured how to get on her rocking giraffe post surgery. She can't get her leg over because it hurts so she gets both feet on it so that she is standing up and then just slides down to a sitting position.

040 041

She loves our cell phones and will really jabber occasionally. She likes to talk to daddy on the phone and will tell me, "Talk, Talk" and hold her hand to her ear like its a phone. She gets very upset if she can't talk so we often put Shane on speaker so that she can hold the phone but we can still talk. She's only a little spoiled, sometimes it's more work to make her upset just so I can hold the phone. I guess picking your battles has already began! This paticular night Shane was singing her songs and she was doing the actions. When he was done she would sign more cause she wanted him to keep singing.

053

This girl is all about smelling things and lately it doesn't matter what it is. she will smell something and then say, "Mmmmmm." Scentsy candles, shoes, socks and all other kinds of things.

061 062

Shane and I decided to make homemade pretzels over conference weekend. They turned out really yummy but the next day were kind of soggy. Delphia loved them and kept saying and signing more every time she would see them on the counter.

It is funny because I make dinners and she won't eat them but we think they are delicious. Then there are days when I am just planning on cooking her corn dogs or something she will eat for dinner and it always urns out that she loves whatever it is I made that I was sure she wouldn't like. She currently loves milk, strawberries, toast, waffles, pancakes, bananas, grapes, apples, pasta, pears and anything spicy.

We didn't have the Easter Bunny at our house this year but figured she will be old enough next year for him to come. She did get a Elmo mix and match book from Grandma and Grandpa Cook the week before Easter at our family dinner (my parents were at Logans wedding that weekend) She also got to go to an Egg Hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Freemans and had lots of fun doing that. She still wasn't sure of the whole thing or what she was supposed to be doing but once she found a Hershey Kiss she was all about the candy. She laid on the deck even though there were still Easters egg with her name on them and unwrapped her kiss and ate it before she was ready to find more goodies.

This tractor was out on the deck and she wanted to ride it. She had fun pushing herself backwards but couldn't figure out how to move forward. We would push her forwards and she would push backwards to us so we could push her forwards again.

009 010 011

Yesterday we went on a family picnic at the park. Shane has been off since Wednesday and we have gotten a lot done. We had Subway and grapes and chips. Phia wasn't too sure about the grapes and would just spit them out. It wasn't until today she decided she liked them, even though she liked them a few months ago. She was definitely all about the Jelly Belly's. Can you tell her mouth was quite full! She ate pieces of our sandwich but mostly played with the zipper on the cooler. We rolled the ball back and forth and played catch and then headed over to the playground.

005

She loved the swings. I didn't doubt for a minute that she would because she constatly wants to swing in Grandma Cook's porch swing. It doesn't matter if it is snowing, raining or dark outside. She just wants to swing. We went to the park last week and I let her swing but they were't swings that wrap around her so she could easily fall and really had to hold on. She let go once and I caught her but then was leary to let her swing again. She didn't want to stop swinging this time and cried when we had to leave.

009 012

She had fun going down 4 different slides and would peek over the top of each one with Shane's help. She would go down and immediately say again and point to the slide. She liked the twisty one even though she always ended up going upside down and head first after turning the first corner.

017

Pretending to cross the monkey bars.....

019

Shane brough her in last night after taking her hair out and asked if she looked like Madam Mimm. I just had to laugh and have him take a picture.

020

Bedtime stories with daddy her new big girl bed.

021

We decided that it was time to put her in a twin bed so we went and got a mattress and bunkie board on Thursday. As Shane was taking the crib down she didn't seem to mind but when he started to carry the mattress and stuff down she started whining/crying, "Sleep, sleep" wodering wher her bed was going. We hopped in the car and went and borrowed Shanes parents truck and picked up the bed parts we needed and went home to drop it off and back to drop the truck off and then home finally. Phia helped Shane make the bed and climbed all over it.

002 003

007

015

She loves her pillow and any pillow that she can find and we have found that she crawls on her pillow and sleeps on top of it.

020

025

These were taken the next morning when she woke up. She went to bed pretty well and Shane laid be her for about 3 minutes until she was asleep at about 10. At about 11:15 we heard her fall out of bed and cry so we went and comforted her and tucked her back in. She woke up again at 4 and we went it to find her out of the covers and 1/2 way down the bed. We tucked her in again and she slept until 8:15. It went much better than we thought it would and she seems to like her new bed. She even takes naps in it no problem. She just talks or cries when she wakes up and we go in and find her still in bed just waiting for us. Now if only potty training is this easy. That is the next thing we are going to work on once she is getting around better. She says poop when she poops and can say potty so now we are telling her that when she poops that pretty soon she will be using the big girl potty.

027

028

She loves to spray herself with the spray bottle and drink it by spraying it in her mouth. On this paticular day she was having a ball spraying Shane. His glasses were drenched by the time her hair was done but it kept her occupied. She is so good when I do her hair and Shane is at work but it is like pulling teeth if Shane is home because she just wants to play.

030

032

Some of her new words she is saying are: potty, tractor, back hoe, blanket, glasses, pillow, strawberries (oddly enough every fruit is a strawberry. For awhile everything was an apple but now you pull grapes out and she says strawberry and you tell her they are grapes and then ask her what the are and she says strawberry!, slide, piano, cookie, Dora, Elmo, hair, head, eyes, nose, ear, elbow, knees, arm, hand, marker, bandaid, bubbles, bath, pajamas, shirt, swing, phone, again, ketchup, laundry, rock, music, hot, sleep, bless you, moon, sky, sorry, eat, hungry, doodle, Ruby, table, jump, circle, oval, star, shake, blue, paper and wipe. There might be other but those top the list.

When we play her CD in the car she can "name" the song with 3-4 notes. If Your Happy and You Know It is "happy", Itsy Bitsy Spider is "spider", Apples and Bananas is "eat", Looby Loo is just that, Who Stole The Cookies is "cookies", BINGO is just that, Grampy Old Troll is "troll", Swiper No Swipping is "swiper", We Did It is "did it". It amazes me how quickly she know what song it is.

She went on a walk with Grandma and Grandpa Cook and apparently they pointed out the moon because now when you ask her where the moon is the point up and says, "moon, sky, Grandma, Grandpa" with all these excited "uh, uh's" inbetween. Her story about the moon is more like "uhh sky uhhh uhhhh moon uuhhhh uhhh Grandma uhhh uhhh uhhh Grandpa. She gets excited when she is trying to tell you a story and there are lots of uhhh's in there. It's after the third time in this video. It makes Shane and I just laugh!

Yesterday we went to Children's Place and tried sunglasses on her. She loves to try sunglasses on and she looked so cute looking up at us that it cracked me up and I could stop laughing.
