Girl of Few Words...

This is my favorite picture to date of my Phia girl! Love her to pieces!

Last week we had waffles for dinner and she let us feed her 3/4 of one before she decided that she wanted to feed it to herself. We gave her a fork and the plate and let her have at it. She tried for quite awhile to stab the waffle but didn't have success. We stabbed it for her but she wanted to do it herself. I guess she finally decided that the only way she was going to be able to feed herself was eating it right off the plate and going utensilis! She was all sticky but she was happy so we weren't going to stop her. We were laughing to hard and were actually probably encouraging her!

She loves to play on furniture and any kind of furniture at that! She crawls from one of our bed to the other and steps right off the edge (you really have to watch her!) She loves to plat in her rocking chair and is getting to be quite the dare devil. She will stand up and rock and is so proud of herself. She really has to concentrate as you can tell by her tongue hanging out of her mouth!

She is so wiggly it is hard to get a good picture of her. She goes from sitting to standing to laying and then to hanging over dofferent sides of the chair! busy, busy!

She has known where her belly button is for quite some time but come to find out she knows some other body parts also. I just thought I'd ask her if she knew where a few things where last week and the one that surprised me the most was that she knew where her ear was. I asked where her ear was and she pointed to it and said, "Ea" I was amazed as the only reference she has really had to her ears is to stop digging in them. She also knows where her toes, nose, teeth, tongue, hands and hair are.

She is still my little book bee! She loves books and loves to look at them and pretend to read them. She really likes books that have flaps to lift or textures that she can touch. My mom just picked up two that light up and she really liked those also.

Once again she was doing gymnastics on the couch. She knows how to get off the couch but I am always worried she is going to jump off! What goes better together than gymnastics and reading!

She liked this book because it was touch and feel but the story was kinda dumb.

I whipped this crayon roll up during her nap today and it was really fun and simple! So much easier than having to put crayons back in a box. I think I should have made the spaces bigger because her crayons are jumbo crayons.

Phia has started saying more words. She has said a few off and on lately. Last week I was bathing her and she pointed at the wall and said "clock" and I was amazed she knew what it was. I asked her to say it a couple more times. She then the next day woke from her nap and was pointing at her dresser going, "uh,uh,uh" and I knew she wanted the clock but I told her I didn't know what she wanted. I was wondering if she would put a name to it. Sure enough she pointed again and said "clock". Some other words she can say are: bread, bear, apple "ap", happy "app with a little y on the end", ear "ea", please she signs this and thank you along with milk, cat, dog, pig and pen. She will try to imitate other things that you say and quite often she says okay and what soundslike, "What did you say?" She is a smart little thing, almost too smart!

Phia loves animals and we are actually thinking about getting her a cat for Christmas. Everytime she sees an animal she has the funniest reaction! There were some dogs on the Today show this morning doing tricks and I had to video her. She gets so excited. She is groowling and hitting her leg which is the sign for dog.

Tonight I was making dinner and I got out her alphabet magnets for her to play with. She was tired and fussy but had fun until it was time to pick up. I asked her to pick them up and I was helping her and she picked up a few within her reach and then stopped. I asked her to pick some more up and she just bent over and reached as far as she could and looked at me as if to tell me she couldn't reach. I told her to crawl over to them and she did and picked up one and then threw the other. It took awhile to get them picked up.

Last week we picking up lids that she had dumped out and a couple had fuzzies/hair on them and I tapped it on the ground and blew it off and so then she had to do the same to every lid she picked up.

She loves to give kisses and it cracks us up. She likes to give them right on the lips. Well she is awfully slobbery and so last week she was giving me kisses and I wiped the slobber off my face and she saw me. Next thing I know she kisses me and then wipes my face off!

Last Thursday I went to a tax/payroll class at the Larry H Miller campus so I can keep my dad's books and do payroll. Shane took the day off and watched Phia. It was nice to get out of the house and socialize but I sure missed my girl!

Tomorrow I need to make pumpkin cake, magic bars, a jello salad and get a dip tray ready. I might get ambitious and make bread also. Busy day and Shane works late so hopefully Phia is in a good mood! I am going to Tremonton with my parents on Friday. Shane has to work but my dads family is having a Thanksgiving get together so I decided to go.

She has her 15 month appointment next week. I think she is growing like a weed and she is a wild liittle thing. She has 12 teeth and is just thinning right out. She loves bread and apples and really enjoyed part of an Eggnog Fat Boy last night at Grandmas.

Last week I told Phia I was going to take a picture of her and she immediately started scrambling to get up so she could be standing. She looks so cute when she tries to walk but is still very unsure of herself. She has taken 6-7 steps a couple times. She will walk to Shane and I the best, instead of other people. On Tuesday we dropped Shane off at Costco and went shopping for a bit. We shopped at Costco and then went over to the mall. Mervyns is closing but there weren't any great deals. We ended up at Payless Shoes to find her some church shoes. They measured her feet and she is now a size 3. We didn't find church shoes but found a pair of tennis shoes. They gave her a Dora sticker when we went in and when we left it was half eaten! I didn't put her shoes on when we left Payless so you can imagine my suprise when I got her out of the stroller to put her in her carseat and she was sockless!

She loves riding her giraffe. She can actually get on and off really well but sometimes she still rides side saddle!

That night I was exhausted and didn't want to cook so Shane brought home Costco take and bake pizza. We were not impressed. Phia liked it but she loves anything pizza! I had made mac and cheese for lunch but made the mistake of serving another favorite food with it, an apple. I should have gone for yogurt. She wanted apple for every bite and not so much the mac and cheese! Her she is with her crust. She kept trying to poke it with her fork to eat it, but it was pretty tough.

This is her new thing. She loves to open her mouth really wide whether she has food in it or not. It makes it handy for teeth brushing but otherwise it's just funny! Her eyes get really big and it just cracks us up!

We were watching Good Things Utah on Wednesday and they had a dog on for adoption at the end. I pointed to the dog and she got all excited and was making her dog sound, pointing, making excited sounds and signing dog. The show ended and she started to cry because the dog was gone. I had to distract her so we went and read some books.

Shane had the day off on Thursday so we hung out at home for a bit but when Phia woke from her nap I was feeling wandery so we headed to Costco in Lehi for some construction paper, hot cocoa and gum. I was still not ready to go home after that so we ran to Red Baloon in search of Ticket to Ride the card game but they were sold out. We also went to Deseret Book and Petco. We found a really fun cat at Petco so in the back of my mind I am thinking maybe for Christmas.....it's just talking Shane into it, though it probably wouldn't take much. We read a couple books at Deseret Book but Phia wanted down because she wanted her own book to look at.

Her pj's are a little long! They fit pretty well elsewhere but just the length drowns her. She doesn't seem to mind though and just goes about her business doing whatever she wants to do and not letting the floppy legs get in the way.

She helped Shane dust on Thursday and was so cute! She was very careful not to knock things over and she was very through!

Ignore her tired little face but pay attention to her arm! She woke up like this last week and then again in this picture. I am not sure what she does in her sleep but man she must be wild to get her arm to come out of the neck hole. She had just woken up on Saturday in this picture and probably wasn't too pleased about getting her picture taken or the flash that went off.

She has not been eating as well as she used to, but will eat if she can do it herself. Shane was just putting her food on the table but I wasn't a fan of that so we picked up these little plates at Wal-Mart. They have 3 sections and came in 4 colors so we got 8 just in case she has cousins over. I don't think I will dare give her my Fiestaware fow awhile! This plate ended up on the floor last night complete with chicken, potatoes and grean beans.

After a little bit she started offering Shane her food and didn't want to feed herself. Shane would lean forward and take her food off her fork and put food off his plate into her mouth. It worked pretty well until the novelty wore off.

She loves pretty much anything she can sit in or on. On Friday my mom came out and we went to the Blue Goose so Shane had put the carseat in the living red to do it on her own. She was content so I went in the craftroom to make a barrette for her. She heard me open my scrapbook tackle box and scooted out of her chair, into the scrapbook room, grabbed the spool of ribbon and headed back to the carseat where she had unrolled the whole spool by the time I finished her barrette!

Phia and I went to the Oh Sweet Sadie Boutique on Saturday at Noah's in Sandy. Here's the link....http://ohsweetsadie.blogspot.com. They had lots of fun things and we foung the perfect suprise for Shane. He likes garbage in a garbage bag in the car, in our casy it's a Old Navy bag. I think it is hideous and so when I spotted this I immediately thought of him!

It's a car litter box and you can take the bag out a replace it with a new bag. What a perfect thimg for Shane! I also picked up some crocheted headbands that we $1 each. I actually got her 8 crocheted and 2 nylon. Lately she doesn't always like having her hair done so I figured the headbands were a good option!

Tonight at dinner she decided that she need her milk and a water bottle. She enjoyed her dinner though and loved the leftover refried beans while the burritos were cooking along with a little pepperjack cheese! She ate almost a whole burrito and 1 1/2 pieces of french toast this morning and a yogurt and 1/2 a banana at lunch!

On Saturday morning we went to Grandma Cooks for the day and Grandma had to get some pictures of Phia in her new outfit. We went to Old Navy last week and got her soime pants (her others were high waters) and a couple shirts. These are the things we got for her. I fell in love with the orange shirt and made a last second purchase.

We were also trying to get a good picture to print one for Shane's wallet but she wasn't cooperating!

I finally gave up!

She is my barefoot girl! She doesn't mind having shoes and socks on but as soon as the shoes come off the socks have to come off. She pretty much just oes around barefoot because she won't keep just socks on. In the next picture she has one shoe/sock on and one off. Yesterday she wore tight to church and she kept trying to pull them off like a sock and they wouldn't come off so she was getting frustrated.

She loves to attempt to unload the dishwasher and she likes to pull my dishtowels off the oven and wipe the floor. I had just gotten this towel out and she decides to wipe the floor with it. After so many times of picking them up off the floor they just get set on the counter until she is out of the kitchen.

Her new routine is reading bedtime stories with daddy. I started reading them to her but Shane has been home earlier lately and has taken it over. She loves lift the flap books and adores this book specifically!

There are a couple thers that are similiar to this that we will have to check out later.

We finally decided to permanently move her to a booster seat. She was crying in her highchair and wouldn't eat but would eat if we held her. The highchair got put away on Thursday and we have a happy Phia as a result! Funny thing...when Shane opened the coat closet to get out the Shot-Vac to vaccuum the highchair out Delphia was in the kitchen and she started crying before she even saw the shot vac. She does not like that thing!

She loves to empty all my tupperware out of my cupboard and last night she had a ball while we were making mac & cheese. Our dinner didn't turn out so we macaroni and made some brownies! Mmmm! After brownies were done we sat on the floor in the kitchen and shared with Phia. She liked my brownie more which is funny because they were the same. I think I share more so she just took up residence by me instead of Shane. She kept saying, "Mmmmm!" When it was all gone she threw a tantrum because she wanted more so I cut one more little piece and gave her another bite and then she was happy!

She crawled all the way into the cupboard and I shut the door on her wodering what she would do but it didn't even phase her!

This was this morning when she was being wild! I could barely get her to sit still. This is what she was doing the majority of the time:

Saturday night her and Shane were playing and she took 3 steps and fell and she was trying really hard. Pretty soon she was laughing so hard it was just game and she would stand up and fall and do it again. She was exhausted and fell asleep on the way home but when we got home she cried in her room so we finally went and got her and she stayed up until 10:30 that night. You never would have thought she was tired. She was wired!

I got her to take 6 steps this morning and 4 steps a couple times! Fun stuff! She will be even busier when she can walk. No doubt about it!

We are having meatball subs tonight and Shane is going to help me finish my tree skirt!
