Little Rider

Delphia got this bike for Christmas but hadn't been able to reach the pedals or figure out how to pedal. She pushes it all over the house with her feet and drags it all around. Last week she brought it in the kitchen and showed us that she could pedal. Ruby brought Emma's bike to the park last week and Delphia climbed on and she pedaled it a little bit. Later that afternoon we took her bike outside so she could practice. I found that she can either pedal or steer but not both at the same time! She had fun pedaling and then we visited with our neighbor Pat for about an hour before we headed in the house.

More Digital Stuff

Last Thursday I was at my mom's and we were making dinner. Delphia pulled out this juice pitcher and was walking around with it on her head singing "Happy Birthday" and telling us it was her birthday hat. Lately, anything she can put on her head is a birthday hat or a helmet!

Playing in the leaves this last fall after trying to help Grandma and Grandpa sweep them up.

Attempting to play Spencer's harmonica this past week. She actually got to where she could dance and make different sounds.

Just a quick family picture from this past month.

Park It!

Earlier this month we decided to go to the park because it was such a beautiful day! It was a little chilly but with a coat it was manageable! We went with Ashley and her girls but they didn't stay real long because they hadn't brought jackets. Delphia didn't want to go home as she has been wanting to go to the park all winter long. We stayed for about 45 minutes and headed home. She did really well for having surgery on her legs the week before and just had a ball. There was a little boy from her nursery class at the park and she had fun trying to play and get him to go down the slide.

Making it Homey!

I finally found couch pillows to match my red and aqua theme in my living room. I have looked a lot of places the last 4 years and nothing seems to match. I was tickled to find them at Costco last Tuesday! I even found new bath mats for the bathrooms that are so soft and cushy! It is amazing what a finishing touch and how warm the pillows make the living room couches seem!

Finished Things

I have been trying to finish up all the unfinished projects I have and have gotten quite a few done.

The first is this Welcome Spring sign that I started forever ago and never finished. My mom finished it for me over the winter and now it is on my front table just waiting for spring to come!

Second was this pillowcase for Delphia. She wanted a new one to replace her valentine one. On Wednesday we went and got the fabric and I whipped it up today during sewing class.

Third is this rag quilt for Josie. I bought the fabric in January and got it cut and sewn in 2 days or so but the clipping seams thing stretched on and on. I was so happy to finish it on Tuesday at my mom's. I vowed never to make one again after I made one for Ruby but I decided to do another one anyhow. The clipping was so hard I actually had a blister on my thumb, but it sure looks cute in her crib!

Fourth is this dress that I bought the pattern for. I had this cute polka dot fabric and so I cut it out and it took about 6 hours to sew. It looks really cute on her and I just need to put buttons on the back to attach the straps.

Hair Barrettes

Just a quick digital page of Delphia that I did today during her nap. She was playing with a wooden spoon and stuck it in her hair like this and told us it was her hair barrette! Silly girl!

Phiaisms Part 3

Just have to jot down a couple funny conversations etc I have had with Delphia lately.

Yesterday we were at Grandmas and she was watching Dora on the bed with Baby Jaguar. I wasn't in the room but overheard this conversation with Baby Jaguar. She looked at Baby Jaguar and said, "Good night Baby Jaguar." She paused and said, "Baby Jaguar doesn't speak English, he speaks Spanish. Have to say Buenos noche Baby Jaguar." It cracked me up because Dora is always saying certain people don't speak English so they have to speak Spanish."

After her surgery she couldn't have a bath for 2 weeks and she really hates showers. We were trying to talk her into showering with Shane. She looked at me and said, "Me shower and daddy shower. You not shower mommy!" I said, "I thought you didn't like showers." She responded with, "I like showers." I told her, "Well, that's news to me!" She looked at me and said, "That's news to me too!"

I saw this poem on a blog and new Delphia would love a book for Sacrament Meeting. Yesterday at my mom's I put it all into Adobe and sent it to Costco. They will go in a 4x6 album. We had fun taking different pictures for her book.

Playtime Fun

Delphia is really good about entertaining herself but sometimes she just needs me to do things with her. Today she wanted me to watch her rock with her animals and to put monkey back on everytime he fell off.

After she tired of rocking we did puzzles. Let me just begin by saying that she a puzzle master. Just after she turned 2 she was really into a 12 piece puzzle that Grandma Cook had. She did this puzzle over and over and finally she could do it no problem and she was pretty fast at it. Then y mom got a 24 piece puzzle and after maybe 15 times doing it she was a master at putting it together. Around the first part of December they bought 3 more 12 piece puzzles at she could put them together by herself the first time. She still loves to put them together. For Christmas we got her a set of 4 48 piece puzzles. If we sit down with her she can pretty much put them together by herself with hardly any help. The only problem is, she gets bored before she get them finished. I wish they had 36 piece puzzles. I am amazed at how good she is at puzzling! She takes fter me I guess because I love puzzles

After w did a puzzle we read every single Dora library book that we had wwhich we had just gotten last night. After that we checked the mail and visited with Pat and Judy (the mail lady). We then came n and had a lunch of eggs and toast for Delphia and an Egg McMuffin for me. She watched a Dora episode and played picnic and then went for a nap.

She has been fighting naps lately but I am not quite ready to give in. She lays in her bed and plays and sings and then starts to cry. I finally go in to get her to sleep and she tells me she wants out. I tuck her back in and pat her tummy and she is asleep in under 5 minutes and will then sleep for about 90 minutes or so.

Wanna Trade?

As I have said before Delphia loves popsicles! She always thinks we have to watch a movie while we eat them though. On Sunday she wanted to watch a movie and eat popsicles so we got her a rootbeer popsicle and Shane and I had Cookies and Cream Weight Watcher popsicles. She had a couple licks of Shane's but when his was gone she wanted mine. I told her that would trade her which is what she wanted. About 3 licks into eating my popsicle she looked like she had a mustache and a beard. I told Shane to go get the camera, but by the time he made it back with the camera she had touched her hand to her mouth and smeared the moustache masterpiece!

Picnic

Delphia loves to have picnics. She loves to grab her blanket and have a picnic with ALL her stuffed animals. The other night she brought them into the computer room and had a pillow to sit them around. One by one she brought them in and they all got a chance to eat at the picnic. She would then roll the blanket up and move it somewhere else. She kept telling me she was rolling it up like a pizza?!? She always wants me to get down on the floor and participate and I always tell her that it isn't comfortable for me to sit on the floor. How's that for a mean mommy!
!

Happy Birthday to Who?

Delphia is really into pretending right now and the most normal thing become totally different in her imagination. Se has a stick pony from the dollar store and it amazes me the things she thinks of to use it for besides riding it like a horse. Riding it is actually the thing she does the least of. Sometimes she uses it as a bat with her dustpan as her mitt. Other times she uses for a "hangbrella" (umbrella) to keep the rain from getting her wet even though we are in the house or the car. She can say umbrella but calls it a "hangbrella," go figure! Sometimes it is her fishing pole and she winds it up" to catch her fish.

So, it didn't surprise me when she decided that her drum lid was a birthday cake. She was blowing out the candles and pretending to at it. At one point she had what she refers to as her "birthday hat" on her head. Her birthday hat is actually a white wicker basket turned upside down on her head with the handle under her chin. I never know what she will come up with next!

A New Valentine Decoration

I saw a cute banner on a blog last week and decided I needed a banner for Valentines. I had a Cricut Cartridge of my mom so I set to work. I finally inished in on Monday and was excited to get it hung up even though it's only February. I love the extra holiday feeling it gives the mirror!

Homemade Slippers

My mom and I went to Pine Needles earlier in the month and saw some slippers they had made and loved them but they were out of the pattern. About a week later I called and they had the pattern in and put it on hold for me. My mom and I made these last Thursday. They were really easy to sew but time consuming to cut out because you had to cut 3 tops and 8 bottoms and the soles. They turned out cute if I say so myself and I love to wear them around the house. Phia wants a pair as she is constantly wearing mine around the house so I will have to make her a pair after the first ones I made were way too small for her chubby feet!

Dora, Lionel and Peppermint Patties Oh My!

Delphia is my chocolate girl or "cloclate" as she says it. She wants to go to the "cloclate" library, she wants "cloclate" ice cream and "cloclate" cereal. Whenever we are at my mom's she wants treats and if you ask her what she wants it is usually chocolate. Just yesterday she wanted a Tootsie Pop and I told my mom she could have any flavor but chocolate. My mom brought down the box and what did she choose, choclate! During the beginning of January my mom had Peppermint Patties which Phia loves. Delphia asked for a mint and Grandma gave her one and this is where I found her enjoying he mint under the chair in the kitchen with Lionel
She also loves Dora anything so when we found this Dora shirt at Target we got it for her.
